A Mixed Bag with Potential
Having experienced various Korean BBQ spots in different cities , I came into this location with some expectations and here's my genuine, no-frills take.
Ambiance & Layout: The space is well laid out with plenty of room to move around, making it comfortable even during busier hours. I appreciated the clean setup and the ease of navigating between the grill and the sauce bar. There's even a dessert area that rotates offerings like cake, jello, and fruit, small touches that add to the overall experience.
Extras & Sides: One thing that stood out is the sauce bar. I love that they offer a DIY sauce experience, complete with a recipe guide to help you mix your own. They also provide a few side appetizers while you wait, like stir-fried rice that was full of flavor. However, the dumplings were a miss they were dry and hard, likely from sitting out too long. Same goes for the stir-fried noodles, which looked like repurposed ramen packets and didn’t quite hit the mark.
Missing Traditional Banchan: Unlike more traditional Korean BBQ spots, don’t expect the usual table-side banchan spread. Staples like japchae, spicy cucumber salad, gyeran-jjim (steamed egg), rice paper, or spicy tofu soup won’t be brought to your table here. The rock pot (a hot stone pot soup) is offered as a substitute, but it's an extra charge. While it's nice to have the option, it doesn't quite make up for the missing variety of small dishes that usually come standard.
Meat Quality: The meat selection is a bit of a mixed experience. The bulgogi lacked flavor and was overly fatty and chewy. The brisket was just okay nothing special, but edible. On the flip side, their spicy chicken and curry chicken were packed with flavor and cooked well. The house steak with special sauce was a solid choice, and both the spicy calamari and green mussels were surprisingly delicious.
Service: Service was excellent shoutout to Leo, our server, who set up our grill with care and checked in often without being overbearing. Definitely a highlight of the visit.
Final Thoughts: This spot shows promise. If you’re new to Korean BBQ or just want something local and easy, it’s not a bad start. It’s also the only place within a two-hour radius that offers both Korean BBQ and a rock pot, which earns it some serious points for convenience. That said, seasoned Korean BBQ lovers may notice the lack of side options and inconsistencies in meat quality.
Would I come again? Probably for the spicy chicken and convenience. But I hope they elevate their offerings with time, because this place has potential to be...
Read moreI haven't been here in 10+ years and it has drastically improved! The restaurant is still working out all the bugs and hiring staff. I had a hard time figuring how it works but finally got the hang of it. You get your choice of hotpot or BBQ (for an extra $5 you can get both) I went with both hotpot and BBQ. You pick your broth for hotpot. The order your meats, vegetables and sides. You cook your food in the boiling broth or on the grill at your table. You get unlimited meats, vegetables and sides. There is also a bar with side dishes like spring rolls, fried rice, fruit and chicken nuggets. They do limit some items like crab legs and shrimp.
My server was Leo and my daughter and I had Easter lunch here. This was Leo's first solo shift and he did well. The hostess forgot our silverware and he was on it. He checked on us frequently and was extremely friendly. There were a few bumps. The kitchen forgot a couple of items and Leo forgot to tell me the kitchen was out of an item. Overall he did awesome for his first solo shift! There were a couple runners, who brought food out to us and they did fantastic as well! The only complaint about the staff was the host. He made it very clear it wasn't a buffet anymore and seemed like he was trying to talk me out of eating there. I'm usually down to try something new and wasn't looking for a buffet. The buffet wasn't good when they did have it.
The food was good but the broth didn't add much flavor to anything. We had pork belly, beef, crab legs, garlic shrimp, taro, seaweed knots and a lot more. The only thing I didn't care for was the lobster meatballs. They were almost like a gelatin and just an unpleasant texture. Overall we had a great experience and we...
Read moreThe food wasn’t horrible, but for the price, there are much better options in Twin Falls. At this price point, you expect something memorable — either in quality, presentation, or experience — and unfortunately, this just didn’t deliver.
If you don’t know how to cook your own food, this probably isn’t the place for you. You’re expected to manage everything at your table, and while that’s the concept, for the cost you’re paying, there should be more guidance, quality control, or even a chef option to help elevate the meal.
The service itself was good. Our waitress was fun, friendly, and really helped keep the mood light. Her great personality definitely stood out and made the experience better than it otherwise would have been.
That said, when you’re charging premium prices, there should be a much higher standard not just for service, but for ingredients, atmosphere, and the overall dining experience. Some of the items didn’t feel particularly fresh, and the overall experience lacked the excitement and quality this place used to be known for.
In all honesty, you could grill at home and probably have a better time — at a fraction of the cost. It’s hard to justify the expense when the value just isn’t there anymore.
It’s disappointing to see how much this place has changed, and unless there are major improvements, I probably wouldn’t return.
Robot was fun and it’s still new but it’s expensive for what you get. Maybe have options for...
