My husband and I have been visiting this establishment since 2015. We are here for a lacrosse tournament and attend annually and went in today. We sat outside with our well behaved dogs and were told nicely that we would need to provide our own water dish. I went inside to see if I could purchase a merchandise cup but nothing was available so I asked the man behind the counter if I could obtain a paper cup for water. He asked “what for” and I told him to give water to my dogs. He got loud with me telling me that he would not give me a cup and that I had to read the rules. I told him it was ok and started to walk away. He came out from the counter area with an open box cutter in his hand and followed me back to the patio area insisting that I read some rules and I told him no thank you. He got more loud and demanded that I do, and was literally yelling at me on the back patio in front of the patrons trying to enjoy their meal. I felt really uncomfortable and intimidated and he just kept on getting louder. I have never in my life experienced such behavior, anywhere. I was shaking and just wanted to get away from him. We have long time friends who are regular customers there and we also have given them our business as a family, and as a huge traveling lacrosse team. We will NEVER return. We will also be sure to encourage our friends and lacrosse community to do business elsewhere. There was no reason to be treated that way. I am a woman at 56 years old and he could not have been intimidated by me, but he made sure to frighten me and bully me for what? To feel like a strong man? He wasn’t. He was a low life and his box cutter wasn’t acceptable. We want to BART and Yeti’s where they welcomed us and treated us like human beings and made us feel like we were welcomed there. So sad and disappointed and want him to know how disgusting his...
Read moreA friend and I were stranded in Vail after we got off work due to the i70 incident on 1/22/25 (we both live down-valley). We decided to go to Garf's to figure out what we were going to do and to pass the time for a couple hours! I've been in The Valley for a few years now, and have always loved going here for après or to watch basketball/football games with friends on the many televisions.
Was the service slower? Yes. Was the kitchen slower? Yes. This was an unprecedented event and Garf's was flooded with people out of nowhere-- without the staff to match. Did we mind that the service was slower? No! Did we mind that the kitchen was slower? Not at all!! I was so impressed by the staff as they all had an incredibly positive attitude (even with such a crazy situation) and were clearly working extra hard to accommodate the crowds. I am true believer that the attitude of the staff is what sets the vibe of the establishment- and the vibe throughout the entire restaurant/bar was very positive that night!
My friend and I gave up on getting home anytime soon and my employer was kind enough to book a hotel room in West Vail (a drive that usually only takes 5 minutes and took almost an hour due to traffic). Huge shoutout to the manager (Mike) for assisting us in getting t-shirts to sleep in since all we had were the clothes on our backs. We love our new shirts as they will always remind us of our unexpected...
Read moreService was great. Food was excellent. But they really have to get it together when it comes to peanut allergies. Noticed on the menu the meal I was looking at said cooked in peanut oil, everytime I asked about a menu item he "had to go ask the cooks" I'm sure after my visit he's got it memorized. But the establishment should post signs that say something about peanut allergies. Sad i couldnt try a little bit of everyones plate at the table lol but I cannot and will not complain about the chicken quesadillas! Food and service was Superb 👌🏾 EDIT I'm sorry I don't remember his name, I asked about the chicken wings because I noticed the Thai peanut sauce and wanted to know if it was just that sauce or are they fried in peanut oil. The gentleman went to ask, came back and said the wings were fried in peanut oil. I asked about the fries, he left and came back and said anything fried Was done in peanut oil. He said he will put a note on order about my allergy just so the kitchen would be aware. Just sharing my visit there. Not saying anything bad about the place I would definitely recommend it to anyone, my kids even ordered food to go, and the next time I visit Vail I will-without a doubt-...
