I recently visited Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams on Battery Avenue in Atlanta, and I have to say, it was a delightful experience. The first thing that caught my attention was the inviting atmosphere – it's small but well-designed, with a clean and vibrant feel that fits perfectly into the lively Battery district. When it comes to the ice cream itself, the selection was impressive. Jeni's is known for unique and sometimes unconventional flavors, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. I sampled a few before settling on the Brown Butter Almond Brittle which was fantastic. The flavors were bold and distinct without being overwhelming, and the texture was rich and creamy, just as you'd hope for in a premium ice cream shop. One of the things I appreciated was the ability to taste-test as much as I wanted before deciding. The staff was incredibly friendly and patient, offering suggestions without being pushy. It made the experience feel a little more personal. On the downside, the shop itself is a bit small, it as very crowded, but we were there on a game day – finding a place to sit was tricky. Overall, if you're looking for something sweet and a little different while you're at The Battery, Jeni's is absolutely worth the visit. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak times, but I promise, it’s worth it!

Great place near Truist Park to stop for some ice cream! After running around the green space at Truist Park, this was a great place to stop for some ice cream. The atmosphere was nice, with more modern design and decor, and a chalkboard menu. There was also a staircase-style wooden seating area. I ordered a single—which does not mean a single scoop, that is just what they call it—of Texas Sheet Cake and Honey Vanilla Bean. The Texas Sheet Cake is a dairy-free scoop of chocolate goodness, containing chocolate cake crumbles and different types of chocolate ice creams. It was a little dry, probably because of the lack of dairy, but other than that, it was spectacular. The Honey Vanilla Bean tastes a lot more like vanilla than honey, but still tastes amazing, putting places like Dairy Queen to shame. There is also a choice between a cup with a waffle chip, a waffle cone, or a waffle cup. I chose the waffle cup, and it was very good. We went to this restaurant on a regular Thursday, so there was almost no wait. It is, however located next to Truist Park, so on game day, I imagine it is completely packed. Overall, a nice ice cream place to cool off after a hot day.

The location is very near one of the parking decks, which is a plus since we ended up eating our loot in the car; wifey complained it was cold outside, while I thought it was neat that it was cold enough the ice cream was not melting! As far as the product goes, the pumpkin roll flavor was interesting. It didn't taste much of pumpkin at all unfortunately, but of spices mainly. It wasn't unpleasant but I like pumpkin flavor for its flavor, not the spices. There were bits of roll cake embedded which made it interesting. Very pleasant treat. My only demerit was the cone. Clearly handmade but it looked burnt and tasted it as well. The flavor was off, as in it tasted fried or something. I was expecting a homemade waffle cone flavor, but I got something else entirely. It was an odd flavor. Maybe check the recipe or this batch on Tuesday?

loath reviewing with all my soul so you have a reference as to how much effort this is for me*

I was craving ice cream (probably due to the heavenly smell) after leavening an establishment with a very unprofessional staff. I walked in to Jeni’s and asked the young gent for his favorite in the biggest size. I was being a goose I might add. I’m a bit of a loud fella. The lad asked cone or cup. I said the biggest cone. He seemed amused. He went on to start explaining options in an effort to help me understand. I quickly cut him off and said the biggest on with the most scoops. He laughed and said ok. I got to the register I was loudly yammering about life love and the pursuit of happiness. The staff were amused but remained professional. The manager was helping her subordinates with other orders. While scooping ice cream, helping a customer and answering questions she was quietly observing me. Witnessing this makes me extremely happy. She wasn’t only worried about the customers she was ensuring her squad would not be in danger in case I became a threat of sorts. I get my cone. I ask for more scoops. Then I pay and leave some FAT digital tips. The manager seemed to have figured me out. Her body language was more relaxed but she was still worried about a quiet night becoming dramatic. All that being said everyone was very kind to me. I don’t see enough kindness these days. Every one was professional. The young ones I’d lead into battle anytime. The manager deserves a promotion or the equivalent in a bonus.

Oh the ice cream the young gent picked was amazing. I’m daydreaming of it now. (See what they had to endure?)...

Horrible service!!!! The gentleman serving our order did not give us part of our order. When we tried to explain to him that we didn’t get what we paid for, he walked away. He then came over even more upset and asked us to produce a receipt to show we had ordered what we stated. We informed him we didn’t, but a check of the transaction would be proof of our order. He then returned with a completed order, but none of the flavors we paid for. His response was for us to immediately leave the store because we were holding up the line. I requested to see a supervisor who could fulfill our order, all the while respectfully calling him sir. He said he was the Manager and again told us to leave the store because he had enough of us. The server who received our payment said she had the receipt and proof of what we had stated. The Manager then grabbed the previous order, threw it at a trash bin (while getting ice cream on the wall) and finally fulfilled our order. However, he wasn’t done showing his lack of respect, as he walked towards us he threw our order on the counter and said now leave. Sadly for this company and this manager, the customers ahead of us and behind us in line complained about the failed orders and horrible customer service. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE ATTITUDE! I am calling the 800 number for Jeni’s and filling a...
