loath reviewing with all my soul so you have a reference as to how much effort this is for me*
I was craving ice cream (probably due to the heavenly smell) after leavening an establishment with a very unprofessional staff. I walked in to Jeni’s and asked the young gent for his favorite in the biggest size. I was being a goose I might add. I’m a bit of a loud fella. The lad asked cone or cup. I said the biggest cone. He seemed amused. He went on to start explaining options in an effort to help me understand. I quickly cut him off and said the biggest on with the most scoops. He laughed and said ok. I got to the register I was loudly yammering about life love and the pursuit of happiness. The staff were amused but remained professional. The manager was helping her subordinates with other orders. While scooping ice cream, helping a customer and answering questions she was quietly observing me. Witnessing this makes me extremely happy. She wasn’t only worried about the customers she was ensuring her squad would not be in danger in case I became a threat of sorts. I get my cone. I ask for more scoops. Then I pay and leave some FAT digital tips. The manager seemed to have figured me out. Her body language was more relaxed but she was still worried about a quiet night becoming dramatic. All that being said everyone was very kind to me. I don’t see enough kindness these days. Every one was professional. The young ones I’d lead into battle anytime. The manager deserves a promotion or the equivalent in a bonus.
Oh the ice cream the young gent picked was amazing. I’m daydreaming of it now. (See what they had to endure?)...
Read moreHorrible service!!!! The gentleman serving our order did not give us part of our order. When we tried to explain to him that we didn’t get what we paid for, he walked away. He then came over even more upset and asked us to produce a receipt to show we had ordered what we stated. We informed him we didn’t, but a check of the transaction would be proof of our order. He then returned with a completed order, but none of the flavors we paid for. His response was for us to immediately leave the store because we were holding up the line. I requested to see a supervisor who could fulfill our order, all the while respectfully calling him sir. He said he was the Manager and again told us to leave the store because he had enough of us. The server who received our payment said she had the receipt and proof of what we had stated. The Manager then grabbed the previous order, threw it at a trash bin (while getting ice cream on the wall) and finally fulfilled our order. However, he wasn’t done showing his lack of respect, as he walked towards us he threw our order on the counter and said now leave. Sadly for this company and this manager, the customers ahead of us and behind us in line complained about the failed orders and horrible customer service. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE ATTITUDE! I am calling the 800 number for Jeni’s and filling a...
Read moreI recently visited Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams on Battery Avenue in Atlanta, and I have to say, it was a delightful experience. The first thing that caught my attention was the inviting atmosphere – it's small but well-designed, with a clean and vibrant feel that fits perfectly into the lively Battery district.
When it comes to the ice cream itself, the selection was impressive. Jeni's is known for unique and sometimes unconventional flavors, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. I sampled a few before settling on the Brown Butter Almond Brittle which was fantastic. The flavors were bold and distinct without being overwhelming, and the texture was rich and creamy, just as you'd hope for in a premium ice cream shop.
One of the things I appreciated was the ability to taste-test as much as I wanted before deciding. The staff was incredibly friendly and patient, offering suggestions without being pushy. It made the experience feel a little more personal.
On the downside, the shop itself is a bit small, it as very crowded, but we were there on a game day – finding a place to sit was tricky.
Overall, if you're looking for something sweet and a little different while you're at The Battery, Jeni's is absolutely worth the visit. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak times, but I promise,...
