The food is good, but their Hawaiian cowboy burger supposedly has pineapple on it. All you get is maybe an eighth of a piece of pineapple. I had asked them to put extra pineapple and they told me it comes with two, so they asked if I want 3 which would be 1 additional than what it comes with. In my mind I am going to get three slices of pineapple . What I got was three very tiny pieces of pineapple pieces. They also did not act in a professional manner considering online it says clearly that their cowboy burgers are only $13. I ordered two Hawaiian burgers and two waters and I paid $43. When I asked them about it, they told me that they had been trying to get Google to change their prices for a while now and that it’s actually 16 per burger instead of 13. It seems to me that most businesses if the Internet is wrong And you ordered it thinking it was $13 would have given it to you for the 13 until they fix it. It seems to me the professional thing to do would have been given it to me for the 13. Also, I called the order in as a to go order, and they put my food in a bag and stapled it shut. If I had not pulled open the bag and looked in I would not have noticed until I was long gone that I did not get the water that I paid six dollars for. I mentioned the water was not there to the waitress and she explained to me I was not charged for it. At that point I forked out another six dollars on top of that $43 I initially paid, making it a total of FIFTY BUCKS I paid for two burgers and 2 waters. When I got out to the car and began thinking about how much money I was charged I called in side and they did give me back my six dollars. However, as I said they were still charging me $16 a burger even though online it said $13 per burger. Management should’ve done the right thing and charge me the 13. All they did was tell me about how they have been asking them to change it for a long time …that’s not the customers fault. Between being charged 16 for a burger that said 13 online, only getting three tiny pieces of pineapple on my burger, them, not, including the water in my takeout in my bag, which could’ve caused me a lot of trouble, and then charging me twice for the water, this is probably the last time that I come here. They apologize for the water situation and of course I was just very sweet about it all and never said a thing except for it’s OK. But after thinking about the entire situation, especially the $13 as opposed to $16 difference, which was a six dollar difference when you’re ordering two burgers and getting the tiny amount of pineapple, they lost a customer. Should’ve charged me...
Read moreI went to the PolarPlunge on Saturday and saw the food truck. I was feeling a wee bit pre-plunge peckish and have been making valid attempts to order foods outside of my norms. The gentleman at the window was extremely “normal” kind… like not overwhelming fake happy more like a dude at work ready to get along with the day so he can do whatever it is he does in his off hours. Anyways… I ordered a puffy taco because that looked nothing like the 3 funky chicken tenders and boring starchy fries I alwayyysss order every where I go. While I waited patient on a bench close by I was also mentally preparing myself for my first polar plunge and trying not to be overwhelmed with all the different sounds and people and shapes. I was brought back to my center when the young man called my name to get my order. It was messy, warm, sweet, creamy, crunchy, salty, sweet, sticky, earthy and so much more. I wanted to get another after the plunge but with all the action I missed my chance. The next day I called the store and spoke with a very kind young lady, giving her praise and accolades for serving an amazing taco. I asked why it was not on the menu and she said it’s only available Tuesdays. So all day Sunday and Monday I went about my business but in my head I kept saying Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday!! Well, Tuesday came and I went there straight from work. The rain was wild on the way there but when you have a taste for good food and service…meh. I did a loop around the parking lot and almost didn’t go in and thought…”support your local people especially on days like today”. The door was OPEN and I checked the hours online that said they closed at 8pm. There were several folks behind the counter and they did the “hey, welcome” thing and I felt a bit off about it. The smiling young lady asked how she could help and before I could say “1 puffy taco and I’ve always wanted a…(a drink they have in the Islands)” I heard a man say “closes at 5…signs on the door…closes at 5!” The young lady said it was ok but I did not feel it was ok. I’m not sure if it was the owner, if there was a sign on the door (there were lots of signs and decor and it probably was too much for me to take in). The door was open, the time was 5:11. I did not order.. I turned around and quickly walked out. I apologize for not reading the sign on the door and I would have appreciated you just saying that in a normal tone. I read your lower reviews and I’m not sure how you felt, I did not feel comfortable eating food knowing I was that person… that customer that comes in at 7:59. I do not know if I will go back. I’m just giving...
Read moreWould like to email the owner about this experience. (Edit, since I emailed the owner and never received a response) My sister took me to Aloha snacks for my birthday. We ordered dumplings, a burger, poke and drinks. The person on register was clearly new, as she was struggling to find the keys to ring us in properly, stopping twice to find someone else. We sat at the bar and waited. The person who rang us up started to make (a different orders) drinks at that bar as I (a bartender) watched in disbelief. She was pouring spout side up, awkwardly gluging unmeasured liquor into two plastic cups. She then went and asked someone if she even used the right liquor. As I watched her butcher these cocktails, I asked if we could cancel our order for drinks as it had already been a long wait for ours and I did not want a cocktail if she was making it. She laughed at me an said she wouldn’t be making ours, someone else would. At the 30 min mark of not yet getting our food, a different sever informed us they had run out of dumplings. We asked to just have that refunded, and reiterated that we also wanted our drinks cancelled and refunded because of the interaction and long wait. That server proceeded to combat us saying we can’t complain about a product we haven’t received. He went back to speak to the manager on duty, and she wouldn’t even attempt to talk to us. He came back and gave us cash for the dumplings and not the drinks. (She payed with a card and was a bit confused about the cash) At the 40 min mark, my sister got her burger. I was still waiting on my poke. No cocktails. She went up and addressed the manager directly who said “the transaction is already finished. You can’t complain about a product you didn’t get” then PULLED CASH OUT OF THE TIP JAR (including the 20 I put in there because my sister payed) then brushed her off. My sister came back, stunned. Me, as a service industry person absolutely pissed that I payed for the drinks we didn’t get. Another 10 mins rolls by before I got my poke. Aloha snacks has been a regular recommendation of mine as a local serving vacationers behind a bar— it will no longer be even on my personal list for places to go. Please consider reviewing customer service to the management on duty, because this was an...
