After walking around downtown Walnut Creek for about an hour, stopping at restaurants and checking out their menu's I, finally fell upon this little gem. It's really cute from the outside and has a cute and quaint set up inside too. There is a small patio with about 4-6 tables that can seat 2-3 people each. The interior is cute too, with tables along the right-hand side wall and a long bench with tables along the left-hand side wall when entering the restaurant. Even though it was a really warm balmy summers' eve, I chose to sit inside. I sat on the left-hand side of the restaurant where the long bench is. There were small pockets of customers scattered amongst the tables on the inside. The person who waited on me, Nina was really sweet, friendly, helpful and attentive. I really appreciated her help, especially in deciding what to order. I ended up ordering the Grilled Peach Salad, with bacon, point reyes blue cheese, mixed greens, candied walnuts & balsamic dressing. It was delicious and I'm not normally a peach type of girl. I loved the taste of the salad, it had all the right flavoring and mixes to it. The bacon added a little something extra to every bite and so did the blue cheese. Along with my salad, I ordered their Fresh Organic Handcrafted Lemonade, let me just say it was perfectly tart. Which is what I am always hoping for when I order lemonade at restaurants. I would much rather have a tart lemonade than a sweet one, but I still love my strawberry or raspberry lemonades. Another plus to the lemonade was that it had pulp in it, I love pulp. The pulp solidified for me that the lemonade truly was fresh, handmade or hand-squeezed. I would come to this restaurant just for it's deliciously tart fresh organic lemonade. I love it, It was perfection and now a new favorite! Their menu also consists of Brunch, Lunch, Items for Kids and Happy Hour. This little gem of an eatery is located in downtown Walnut Creek, half a block down from the Starbucks on North Main St. Parking can be a bit of a pain if you insist on finding metered street parking, but there are parking structures nearby.

This place has always been hit or miss. I do want to love it bc its easy and convenient, clean, and always decorated with fresh flowers. Years ago before the pandemic it offered another American option for brunch and lunch. Any early experience that led us to take a 3 year hiatus from the place was as follows: my mom ordered cream for her coffee. It came in a cute silver cream jar. She looked in and there was a dark hair floating. She asked for a different creamer. They questioned her claim and snicker and complained in the back about it- 3 or 4 ppl looking into the creamer jar deciding how to respond to us. I think just replacing it with fresh cream is the right thing to do! Fast forward --Then they remodeled. We returned. The food was seasonal and thus offered tenuous quality at times. They began overcharging for acme bread and jam. What a turn off. An entire loaf of Acme bread can be found at whole foods down the street for the price of 2 slices. Not asking for free bread but $10 for 2 slices is ridiculous. My toddler can eat that. Then I fell in love with the personal sized pizzas. Yikes, now they are about $30. Having lived overseas, I can't justify paying $30 for a personal sized pizza. Inflation is up, but these prices are absurd. $23 for half a ball of burrata, 1-2 slices of prosciutto, tomatoes and olives halved. Beautiful presentation, but again the cost of an app for the price of a lunch or dinner plate at 11am...? The wine list left much to be desired. The best glass on the list is shramsburg. And anyone who understands a good glass of wine would prefer more than one tasty option. Best red on the list was veeder, and veeder is basic and at times gross if left open for too long. I can say their seasonal strawberry lemonade was tasty. Sweet but not too sweet. The classic old fashions are always good if you can pick your bourbon. They did jump on the mezcal trend. And while the mezcal choice was quality, my partner thought the mixed drink with mezcal was about an 8 and well done enough. Service: i dont mind service being wrapped into the charge. But give me the service. The initial assigned server took more than 10-15 mins to greet us. She came out hot with no apology, and simply said oh you must be waiting for others. I remarked we were ready in fact and proceeded to order apps and drinks. When we had other drink orders or questions she was found in the back hugging co workers, chatting, and even texting. I walked up to the bar and the bar tender at first encouraged me to wait for my server, i responded and let him know we were having trouble getting service and he decided to make the drink we asked for. 10 mins later we had a different server helping and the other never rtn'd. It was the most odd transition. The first course we ordered came out wrong 30 mins later. It was quickly refired. And the new server did her best to be completely attentive w/o hovering for the remainder of the meal. We appreciated that. But like I said, this place just feels unreliable. The service really lacks a Prima or...

My family and I loved this restaurant and always came for lunch when our kids had the day off of school. However, since the remodel we have had numerous bad experiences. The first being when my husband simply asked them to hold sunflower seeds on the salad he ordered. The server said that altering menu items was not allowed. Even at Michelin rated restaurants they bend over backwards to make sure the customer's food is prepared the way THEY like it.

Our second visit after the remodel was even more disheartening. To begin with, we were seated outside in extremely uncomfortable chairs. We came for dinner and my son absolutely loves their steak sandwich. He intended on ordering the sandwich, but we were unaware that it was only a lunch item. Unfortunately, there were no other items on the menu that he could eat due to his food allergies. We asked if he could order a hot dog off the kids menu instead, because there weren't any other items he could eat. Our server said "no" he's too old (he was 13 years old). Mind you there was a young girl sitting near us eating a hot dog (a kids menu item) who appeared to be the same age as our son. So my son had french fries ($7.00 is pricey for fries and $2.00 more than their lunch price) and bread for dinner.

On top of all of this, some of their servers were very unfamiliar with the menu items and seemed to have a general lack of interest in their job. The lack of interest is possibly due to the 20% service charge that's automatically tacked on to each bill. I prefer to reward servers based upon their service. The restaurant is responsible for paying their employees a living wage and tips are the icing on the cake for their servers hard work and exceptional service.

Such incredibly POOR customer service. It seems as though the owners have forgotten that they're in the hospitality industry. We won't...
