I ordered the chicken & angel hair entree, run far away from this thing if you can. Described on the menu as being chicken, angel hair pasta, pancetta, pine nuts, garlic, olive oil, chilies, and toasted bread crumbs, I was disappointed to receive the greasiest dish I’ve had in my life. There was legitimately ~ two teaspoons of grease pooling to the side of the pasta, that’s still not counting what was coating the pasta itself (touching the pasta led to a shine on my finger that was greater than I have on my dress shoes).
The chicken was absolute rubber as well. If there was supposed to be a creamy sauce situation with the oil then the sauce was completely broken, if it wasn’t supposed to be cohesive and saucy then the kitchen is failing the menu. There were no pine nuts, garlic, chilies, or toasted bread crumbs that would have brought flavor or seasoning either, not really sure what happened. I have box garlic pasta and chicken strips at home, mixing those two would have been better than this meal. I don’t know how anyone let it leave the kitchen.
Outside of that, we went our first 15 minutes of being seated without being talked to by our server (the server did her best and was polite when she got to us). The deviled eggs and salmon were both fine, but they both felt like things that I could have made to the same degree at home.
I hope to see oscars continue to succeed as much as I do any small business and I hope they improve, but our experience is going to have us going to other places...
Read moreAfter a long day at work, I suggested to my husband we go out to dinner...and I wanted to go to Oscars to have my favorite Crispy Salmon dish. He never minds that suggestion as his favorite dish is the scrumptious sauteed walleye with crab sauce! My sister joined us that evening too. Perusing the menu, I asked our excellent server, Nicholas, about the Sea Scallops offering as I hadn't noticed it before. He said that the Sea Scallops with roasted cauliflower mash, caper-golden raisin brown butter, green beans and toasted almonds was very popular. He said that the chef who created the recipe was the one in the kitchen that evening and if ever I was going to order it, tonight was the night. And I told Nicholas: "Sold!" The Sea Scallops dinner at Oscar's is absolutely spectacular! My husband and my sister agreed with me that it is amazing. So now I have a new quandary: Salmon? Sea Scallops? Either way you can't go wrong...just depends on what you feel like that evening! Oscars has long been a favorite of ours. The host staff is always friendly and accommodating and we always have very nice wait staff, the management must hire and train well. Oscar's is a well managed, long standing tradition in Dublin, OH with wonderful menu offerings and a great wine list. And if the weather allows, the patio is a great...
Read moreWent to eat here with a big group, after making reservations weeks in advance. The servers did okay, the people behind the scenes not so much. The drinks were almost water by the time they arrived from sitting, the apps were cold and the food was messed up on about 7 peoples order. When you order an Old Fashioned, you would expect to taste some of the Whiskey and other flavors. Not with this place, was like a drink served beachside in the middle of summer, and the waiter had to walk 3 miles to reach you. My salad was given to another person, and his to me. Our steaks were also swapped out and didn't realize until cutting into them. There were several other people whose steaks were way over done, not cooked enough or even given the wrong cut of meat. One guy was told they no longer had that cut after running out, so he received a whole different cut of steak without notice. When you spend about 2k on dinner, and at least 20 percent on tip additionally, you would hope for a better experience. I could have gotten a better experience at a Steak House chain. Search around a bit more when looking for a "Fine...
