Made a reservation through their AI system. When we arrived they had our name, but not the other details of the reservation that we specified (birthday celebration and outdoor seating). Mentioned this and they had no answer for why which was disappointing. The decoration of the restaurant is very nice, but very "Dublin uppity like" with a very snooty feel to it. The table for two that we sat at was much too small as the plates easily crowded the table and made it uncomfortable to eat the different courses. Now the food. We got calamari and shrimp cocktail appetizers. Both were average but nothing to get excited about. The calamari were in particular very small and sparse, but the marinara that came with it was good as was the yum yum type sauce with the shrimp which I really liked. We ordered two Caesar side salads. Now these were not good at all with very little dressing, and they came in bowls that were much too small to eat out of. Take note Tucci's. My wife got the miso salmon which she said was good, although it came with some very funky vegetables that were uneatable, a very small portion of both rice and the salmon itself. I got the veal chop parmesan with angel hair pasta. I will admit that the size of the veal was larger than I had expected, yet the portion of pasta was smaller than I expected. The server was nice enough to bring me two extra sauces which I enjoyed very much as well as the veal itself. Strangely enough they don't serve any fresh bread with meals which they should as this was kind of expected and would be a nice touch considering the very high costs of the entrees themselves. Now for $52 that veal better damn well be exceptional as I could pay about half the price at another local Italian restaurant for a comparable dish. We walked out saying to ourselves that the overall meal was O.K., but not great and worth the extremely high prices that they charge for their food as it doesn't justify this. Will probably not be back for...
Read moreThis was our second visit, and unfortunately, it was very disappointing. During our first visit, the service, food, and atmosphere were excellent, which is why we decided to return. But this time was completely different. After placing our order, we waited more than 30 minutes without receiving our food. Although we ordered first among nearby tables, other guests were already halfway through their meals while we still had nothing. Our server never checked on us, never made eye contact, and never came by our table. Eventually, I had to ask a manager-looking person for help, and only then did our food finally arrive. The manager brought the food, not the server. By that time, our baby got really fussy from waiting so long, and we couldn’t enjoy the meal. The server never once asked how our food was, never checked on us, and didn’t even bring the bill—we had to ask the manager again. While the manager apologized and gave us a 50% discount, the service we received was unacceptable. My husband still left a 15% tip based on the full bill before discount, but honestly, the server did not deserve even 5%. I regret not getting her name, but she was the female server working at the window side on left side on September 16 on lunch. I truly hope management provides proper training. I had recommended this restaurant before, but after this experience, I can no longer recommend it and don’t plan to return. The way we were treated made us feel very unwelcome, and it even raised the question of whether race played a role, as we were the only Asian customers at the time. We’re very unhappy and disappointed.
Edited: After reading other reviews, I noticed that other Asian customers had similar experiences, which makes me even more upset. It seems like this restaurant is simply not a place where Asians are welcome, and I would strongly warn other Asians never...
Read moreRecently visited their new seating area. Very beautiful and tastefully done. I noted some changes to their long standing menu items, example their honey rolls, was not a fan of the new presentation or product. That is just my opinion of course. The wait staff was very attentive. I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed, but he handled it in stride. It was a grand opening weekend and they were very busy. Unfortunately our arrival got off to the wrong foot (pun intended?) We arrived for our reservation and upon checking in with the receptionist, I mentioned I needed to go to the restroom before walking down the steps to the new seating area. You see, I had broken my big toe (falling down steps, no less) just days prior. The receptionist said "you don't have far to go" and I asked if there was a new restroom at the front of the restaurant, obviously that would be great. She kindly informed me it was for handicapped patrons only and they reserve it for them, I would have to go to the back of the restaurant to the original bathrooms. I was a bit taken back and too dumbfounded to say anything so off I went, hobbling to the back of the restaurant. Of course I didn't see the black baseboard under the new bench seating on the way, so I proudly kicked that with my broken toe and doubled over in pain. After embarrassingly regaining my composure, I walked the length of the restaurant and back, made it down the stairs to my seat. Would have been nice to not have had that interaction right off the bat with the receptionist. Tainted the experience for sure. Next time I will be bold and speak up or better yet, "there is a restroom right here" and just leave it at that, would have been better. This is a nicer restaurant and the tone was not...
