If I could give this place negative stars I would. We had a group of four and so we were led upstairs. There was lots of room however it was about 60 degrees! Freezing! No one in my party took off their coat because they were freezing. When the waiter came by he took our appetizer order and I asked him if it was possible to turn up the heat. He looked annoyed and said he would check.
Two other parties were seated upstairs too. None of them took off their coats because it was freezing. When the waiter came back to take our order I gently asked if he had found out if the heat could be turned up. Annoyed he said he asked and they had a problem with the downstairs so it was not possible. (He definitely did not ask AND later he closed the open window)
One of the parties upstairs left about 10 minutes after sitting down as they had not yet been waited on. We felt the same way but had already received our edamame. The bowl of edamame was sparse. There was maybe 10 pieces, not enough for what we were paying.
We had also ordered miso soups which never arrived. We were starving and at the very end of our patience. Then the food took about 45 minutes to arrive and it was only after we asked if the food would be ready soon and to please cancel our soup orders because they had never brought them that the food promptly came out.
The food was fresh and tasty which was the only good part of the evening. The waiter came by and filled everyone at the table's water and then skipped mine like he was not going to fill it until one of my party members gestured at my cup. He then filled it but not without glaring at me.
I am extraordinarily disappointed especially after seeing pretty good reviews of this place. I would suggest anyone who wants to eat here order in the food because the service was absolutely horrendous. I didn't ask for anything besides the heat to be turned up and was treated with complete disrespect. Absolutely unacceptable for an institution that is supposed to be costumer service oriented.

Read moreLong story short, today I was overcharged for an order of chicken teriyaki. Menu price is $9.95, with DC tax and bag fee, should be $11, was charged $14.30. I've worked in an office nearby for over 3 years and regularly ordered the same $11 lunch, probably once every two weeks. When I asked why my order was suddenly $3.30 extra today, the woman behind the counter told me I had ordered the dinner size (at 1pm?) and that she gave me extra chicken (when I opened the box, it looked to be the same portion size I've always gotten).
Miscommunication or not, I asked for her to show me on the menu where the different price for the dinner portion is- the printed takeaway menu, the board above the sushi bar in the restaurant, THE RESTAURANT'S OWN WEBSITE as of 2/22/17 all say that chicken teriyaki is $9.95 and there is no special or different pricing for dinner (combination teriyaki is an up-charge). I asked for her to refund me the difference, and you can guess how that went! Hint- no refund.
At the end of the day $3.30 isn't going to destroy my personal finances, but it's definitely very shady to charge customers a price that is not reflected on your menu/website/whatever- actually shouldn't that be illegal, or is it not already? Either way, I will not be coming back. The timing for my one-woman Sushi-To-Go/Bluefin strike couldn't be better. Ownership changed in 2016 and the quality of both food and service has gone...
Read moreI’ve been meaning to try this establishment for a while now. It’s a nice small Sushi house in front of the canal in Georgetown. Unfortunately that’s all this place is, a nice authentic location in Georgetown. The menu was pricey and the food was ok. The food is not bad but definitely pricey. Also they served my food on a to go plastic bowl!? It kinda ruined the mood and vibe of the place. Everyone around me was eating on regular plate and bowl and here’s my food on a plastic bowl. When I was ordering I ask the lady what the Sushi chef was making because it looks very good and the presentation was nice. She said it was a Chirashi Bowl. So I told her I would like the same. I asked the lady why mine came on a plastic bowl she said because of COVID? I looked around and not a single person was eating on a plastic bowl. She started to make things up and at the end she realized that I wasn’t buying her story. I would not recommend this place and I wont go back again. I took my wife to this place and felt bad that we had...
