Georgetown Frame Shoppe — Attraction in Washington

Went to Georgetown Frame Shoppe today and was completely ignored by staff. They open the door but no “hello” or “how can I help you”. No worries, I’ll show myself around. I go upstairs/downstairs, looking for their collection, but end up hitting dead ends. Fine, I’ll approach the two employees. Since they’re chatting, I stand right next to them. I’m waiting, looking at them, not wanting to interrupt. Again, I’m completely ignored, they just keep talking as if I’m not there.

Found this place through Artsy and was interested in some of their pieces, but will never be...

Art installer failed to follow directions from designer/ elevations given. Some of the art was installed in the wrong location and the only way I was told Georgetown would fix it was to charge another install fee. I tried working out a deal through email and the fellow I was emailing with stopped responding all together. The other pieces that were part of this job were installed in the proper location per the elevation...

I’ve had several interactions with Peter and his team over the years – both buying and selling/consigning. They are always extremely responsive, professional, and fair. They take exceptional care in packaging and shipping the artwork. What more could you ask for? Their collection of animation art is impressive and continues to grow.
