Fresh Baguette is a French bakery that offers authentic pastries, breads, especially their baguette, which features a crunchy crust and a chewy interior, as well as sandwiches and many other offerings. This one, located in downtown DC near the Milken Institute and across from Truist, has a notably clean interior, and the display case was filled with a tempting variety of pastries and desserts, which immediately caught our attention upon entering. The Pistachio Orange Blossom Tart, which was pleasantly balanced and not overly sweet, paired well with whipped orange blossom and zesty citrus notes, combining harmoniously with pistachio ganache to create a delightful dessert that aligned with our preferences. I’d give it a 5-star but the coffee is terrible. I got the free coffee subscription but had to cancel it because both the espresso drinks and brewed coffee is so watered down. I have to order 3 espresso shots for it to taste almost like the regular latte at other places. I wish the coffee tasted better or else I’d come in every morning.
