This place looks nice and comfy in the beggining but when you dig deeper it has the most disrespectful and rude staff ever. One time I had dinner and drinks along with my cigar and paid a fee of 50 bucks for the food and tipped 6 dollars. The waitress looked at the money as if she looked at a piece of crap and said "You come here all the time you should be careful".
I came a couple of times and thankfully they behaved. But 2 days ago I just couldnt believe what I experienced.
I arrived with 3 friends, 2 of them about to marry in spring. I love them and they are my friends and I bragged about how nice Shellys was and so on. We sat and the waitresses asked for our ids. I didnt know that my friends fiancee was under age and I asked the waitress if its okay for her to stay as far as we dont drink alcohol. She said no but I couldnt understand if she meant we couldnt stay for drinks or for anything. So I asked her to bring me the manager so I could clear it.
The manager (a gentleman who always had a rude way of dealing with customers,not answering and making faces) immediately looked at me and said
"She has to be over 21 to ride this ride". Which I found very rude for a manager to say. I asked back "I come here all the time cant she stay if we dont have drinks?" in a very nice and polite way. Guess what he said in response
"I am not supposed to babysit her".
Now imagine how I felt. My friends are here, I am their host, I brought them here and this "manager" insults them. "Babysitting"? What kind of a language is that?
I asked back ofcourse
"I dont like the tone of your voice"
He immediately showed the door and said "Have a nice day" but nothing in his mood or actions reflected anything nice. I could have stayed there and he would have used force because thats what he wanted to do.
I will do my best to make sure he doesnt get anymore customers because I called him and told him that he was absolutely RIGHT to remind me of the rules and I was absolutely OBLIGED that I must leave if I have an underage person with me. What I told him was that he DID NOT have the right to insult me or my friends no matter what. I asked him to apologize and he did not. Nautrally I told him that I would tell this to everyone so that they know what kind of a manager he was and guess what, he had the final blow;
"You are not welcome here anymore." "Go smoke your cigars somewhere else"
Well I definitely will and make sure...
Read moreWent as a party of 3 as they could not accommodate our full party. We had what I can only describe as one of the worst restaurant service & quality experiences of any of our lives. Two ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich and one the chicken fajita. The Buffalo chicken sandwiches were a single tiny microwaved piece of chicken on only a bun. Not a single other condiment. The fajita could only be described as taco bell serving size and less than taco bell quality. This food came out after sitting approximately 45 minutes instantly after one of our party left the restaurant due to the wait. We also had the server come to our table a total of two times (once when we first sat and once when one of our group left) and offer atrocious service. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a quick bite of quality food to go to any fast food restaurant other than this restaurant. To top this experience off they forced a 18% gratuity on the tab of the group of friends we were seated separately from (after us 3 had paid and we had left the restaurant separately) which is something we will be looking in to disputing with the credit...
Read moreCan't wait to go back here! It's like walking into the basement at your grandparents' house, and your cousins start showing up. Shelly's was warm, inviting, and intimate. The crowd was mixed. They managed to utilize every space with allows small tables of 4-6, sofas, and single chairs/recliners for the loner dropping in. People were chatting, conducting business, eating, reading, watching TV, and meeting new people. It's a great place if you don't mind a lot of people in a small space. Street parking is crazy so be prepared to walk a couple of blocks. They could improve their tequila offerings, but we settled with Dobel Anejo 😊 I heard their Old Fashions are good too! Our table had wings, loaded fries, a steak & cheese sandwich, and Shelly's burger! All delish. Their fries remind me of 5 Guys...yum! We brought our own sticks, but they have a selection to purchase from. Be prepared to spend $$$. It's not overly priced, however, depending on your smoking, eating, and drinking habits along with the size of your party - you may want to be prepared with a budget in mind. Otherwise, smoke on and enjoy...
