While finishing up a review down at the Navy Yard in D.C., this spot caught my eye!! A BBQ spot!! Yep, NEW SPOT ALERT!! They have beer, & cocktails, so let’s go see what they’re hittin on!! . Where I am: @suzieqsdc . Location Reviewed: 71 Potomac Ave., S.E. Washington D.C. . Items Reviewed: DELICIOUS. Their Big Brisket Sandwich ($16 with house made pickles, bbq sauce, & slaw, & onions). Plentiful, with a bbq sauce you can put on anything, just a tad bit dry.
DELICIOUS. Their St. Louis Style Ribs ($18 half a rack chili rubbed with house pickles, bbq sauce, & onions). Nicely chili flavored skin, just a tad dry.
LIKE THAT! Their Smoked Wings ($14 chili rubbed with ranch dip). Well smoked, mildly spicy, dip these into the bbq sauce!!
DELICIOUS. Their Cornbread ($3). Good…that’s it, good.
DECENT. Their Mac n Cheese ($6 with shells, breaded, & bacon bits). Cheesy, a tad bit watery. . Customer Service: On Point. . Parking: Rough on the street, but it’s paid garages everywhere. . Recommendations: They have a great bbq sauce. . Accessibility: It’s wheelchair friendly, & it’s differently abled persons friendly.

My brother-in-law was falsely accused of doing something inappropriate just because his Meta glasses were blinking (they were simply running low on battery — not recording or doing anything shady). He was doing absolutely nothing wrong. Instead of approaching him with basic decency or asking what was going on, they escalated the situation by calling the police. It was humiliating, unjustified, and clearly rooted in bias and discrimination. To make things worse, it was obvious they targeted him also because of his appearance and the Nationals Pride t-shirt he was wearing. Their actions were not just ignorant — they were racist and homophobic. There’s no excuse for that kind of behavior in 2025. This place does not feel safe for people of color, or for LGBTQ+ individuals. I strongly advise staying away if you care about respect, dignity, and inclusion. Never...

The Bad: stopped in yesterday and was told the food wouldn’t be ready to be served for a few hours… Also heard someone (I assume to be a manager) speak to a female bartender in a condescending tone while there. This is a small space so everything will be heard. I would keep that in mind.
Hopefully will be able to try...
