I used to be a member of ClubCorp and this was my home club. I have played a lot of the golf courses while I was travelling but the closest ones to where I live are an hour away. When they raised the cost of the ONE program I no longer had a viable business case and they didn't have enough extras to draw me in. I visited the Town Point club in Norfolk and that was a fine club. The location was on the water in downtown Norfolk and they have a cigar room. How can a DC club not have a cigar room? The City Club of Washington is a great wedding venue for any couples looking for a location with all the luxury and amenities of a private club but without the requirement that you be a member to book it. We photographed a marriage celebration there a while back and came away impressed with everything The City Club has to offer. The staff is extremely helpful, and the facilities are first-class. The venue's highlight from a design and decor point of view is the massive staircase that curls around a huge fountain on its way down to the main entrance. The billing and A/R department is horrible- we started having billing issues very early on and for TWO YEARS they still were there. We cancelled 6 months ago and I'm still having issues with getting threatening notices and billed every single month for membership and charges that aren’t ours.

Apparently there is a management issue and nobody seems to stay in the job... which leads to this issue never being resolved.

Stop charging people who cancelled their accounts months ago. Seriously.

I’ve been to and a member of other Club Corp locations and this one is seriously lacking in a lot of areas. It’s great for a drink or meal, but you probably should look into other clubs...
