I rediscovered Trouble Bird about a year ago, I knew it as Maxwells, and if you notice that name is still on credit card statements. Anyway, all the mixologists are amazing humans. Justin, Chris, Drew Ian have come together to form an amazing teamâŚeven the shy bar-back is always working overtime to make sure the guys have what they need so they serve you up amazing delicious cocktails! I almost never leave reviewsâŚand in all My Reviews I say that lol! However, Sometimes, a small act of kindness can completely turn your day around. I probably spend 300-400 dollars a month at TBâŚbuying my friends rounds and for business events as well. So paying is never an issueâŚhowever at Trouble bird is a place you come to relaxâŚand find a little kindnessâŚThat's exactly what happened when my favorite/hot/m/Kind bartender Ian surprised me by buying my round tonight. It was a small act of kindnessâŚhe just said make sure you come back. The guys make you feel like, all their customers are their best friendsâŚI seen them make sure ladies get safely into Ubers, deescalate conflicts and listen to your troubles with compassion, especially Justin. Chris gives the best high fives and hugs, and Drew is a man few words, but he makes sure they count and are impactful. I am leaving DC in a few weeks after 13 yearsâŚand I will miss these guys and this bar endlessly. They work hard and it shows. I donât know how long they will stay a team but if you were lucky to drink here with you wonât soon forget it! My drink is called a water Lilly and it...
Read moreWelcome to the new Navy Yard bar inviting to to feel like you are in New York West Village. Striking an unexpectedly refreshing chord. Its excellence is undeniable, reminiscent of the enchanting vibe of Please Donât Tell blended with a serene lounge atmosphere that simultaneously feels exclusive and inclusive. The menu playfully experiments with classic concoctions. I indulged in a Brooklandâa creative take on a Brooklyn or dark Manhattan, a gem I've yet to stumble upon elsewhere in DC. It's intimate, it's trendy, and it's that under-the-radar spot everyone adores yet remains discreet. The creative genius and skillful craftsmanship of Andrew Hurn and Justin Cara-Donna infuse every detail, elevating this spot into a masterpiece of mixology and ambiance. Far from the glitz and the crowds, it's the ultimate destination for those lingering moments when the night is nearly done, but you're just not ready to...
Read moreLast Friday, my friends and I, a group of about 10 people, drove 45 minutes to Trouble Bird very excited for the Black Lagoon Pop up that I had been hyping up for a week!! As we walk up, ready to spend money, take pictures and enjoy the pop up, the bouncer right off bat was rude and cold. She checked only 3 or 4 of the IDS before deciding she just didn't want us there. With a quick peek inside, we saw it was clear our group didn't exactly "look like" the other type of people inside. We were rudely sent away and shunned. Very disappointing that a business has an employee that is so willing to turn away 10...
