I just deleted my old review about this place, and going to write a new one. Edit last review won’t be enough since I have a totally different opinion about this place after tonight’ visit. I had given this restaurant five stars before, and now one star seems too much. I had been at this place with my husband several times, and I had pleasant experience usually. The bad experience started the second we entered the restaurant. I had reserved a table for seven via open table. We got there exactly on time. The lady in font told me that they had to see if they have available table for us. I said sorry I have reservation, so she replied back that she knows, but setting a table for us would take few minutes ( I don’t understand the idea of making reservation then). After 15 minutes waiting, the table was ready. Today was the first time that we visit as a family. We had been with our kids to many Brazilian steakhouse in Houston and other cities in Texas, but this was the first time at this pace. As my experience with other restaurants, they charge kids fee for children between 4 and 12, and complementary for less than 4 years old. I have 3,4 and 7 years old, so I expected to be paying for two of them as usual. The first cut meat pass by, and he didn’t server the kids even they had asked for food. The second guy passed, and also he didn’t replied at the kids demands to get some meat, so I had to ask if I am going to pay for my kids since they are getting no food at all. The answer was that the kids are free, so I had to explain that I won’t accept my kids to be starving at a restaurant because we don’t pay for them. The attitude towards my kids didn’t changed even after my complain. My husband started to give them pieces from his plate. I was very frustrated and unhappy for all this ignorance and disrespect to my kids. I do understand that this could be the restaurant policy not to serve meat to the kids since they don’t charge for children, but in this case they have two options; either should not accept kids, or charge kids fee . I am not meat fan, so I usually order salad bar, and last time I was at this restaurant was February of this year, and the salad bar was very good and delicious. This time, the salad bar was so limited, few items, and it wasn’t tasty. The shrimp was horrible, and the lobster brisque soup was the worst that I had ever tasted in my life. I cannot express my frustration at this place enough. I won’t step a foot in ever again. There are for sure better restaurants...
Read moreProfessional Thieves! Between The open table app and the distracted virtual assistant for their company, the staff at the restaurant when we showed up. They ruined a beautiful night. Not only was there so much miscommunication, they all of sudden sprung up with new requirements and lies about the room price and menu prices. They refused to honor what they said and put us in another room more expensive and did not accommodate my number of guest as originally promised. They never mentioned an amount that was required if people cancelled. Such a lack of communication. They even sent emails after the dinner with their requirements not before charging my card. They said when you get here we will accommodate the number of guest you have and move you to a smaller room, If the number you have decreases. They did not! They then had a staff rushing us to eat and order. They wanted us out so quickly we were rushed to eat our meals. Meat was good the salad bar was unpresentable, disgusting and empty. Poor options. When I asked why they were rushing, they said because they're about to close. My reservations were for 7 sharp. My guest were there by 645pm. They didn't get to us till almost 9pm. They all had a aggressive angry attitude except one older waiter, towards our guest and were absolutely rude. Guess what ? I spoke Spanish, I understood Everything. And all their rude comments about my guest, and their remarks about getting us out and about the tip and money they were gonna get out of us. With a Condescending Manger acting like we shouldn't have been there in the first place. The host spoke so fast we didn't understand a thing! I had to ask him to repeat what he said so I could explain all he had said. I could see why they were following suite. They got 600.00 extra out of us. and try to add dessert and liquor to our dinners to avoid what they planned out in the first place. No one drank and they had a comment about that too in Spanish. Never again, I do not recommend this location at all to host any time group events. Unprofessional, they knew what they were doing. Yes, I was able to speak to someone, I did not miss any emails, or calls, I never got a call back, I had to repeatedly call and email and text. My coordinator never responded back to my text, they made a dozen excuses why it was my fault and never took responsibility. I was left with nothing...
Read moreAvenida Brazil is one of my absolute favourite places to go. Not only is the dining experience unlike any other, the quality of food and the service are always top notch. The latter is what precipitated this particular review. While my Dad and I are used to the gauchos remembering what cuts of meat we like and how vastly differently we like them (medium rare for me, well done for him), this most recent visit went well above and beyond the usually excellent service we receive.
A delightful lady named Jennifer sat us and took our drink orders. Throughout the course of the meal she came by several more times to ensure that the specific cuts of meat that we wanted were provided and cooked to our preference. What set her apart from past servers, though, was not just the breadth of her knowledge but how incredibly generous she was with her time.
We had a few questions that we'd always wanted to ask (if someone writes down which table wants what cut of meat and at what level of doneness, why certain menu items were no longer offered, etc.) and she was happy to field all of our questions, no matter how specific or seemingly frivolous. She was so delightfully upbeat and seemed to know just about everything involved in the operation of the restaurant.
To say she helped turn a great meal into a spectacular one would be a grievous understatement. She is truly special and in turn she made US feel incredibly special and valued and appreciated. We may as well have been her only table for all the time and attention she paid to us.
Oftentimes in the world of service there is a fine line between being attentive and not giving the diners space to have their own conversations. Jennifer never felt intrusive at all and took such joy in sharing her knowledge of the restaurant and its inner workings. I truly hope when my Dad and I return to Avenida Brazil she will still be there so she can make our meal time another five-star experience.
Sincerely,
Jesse &...
