Decided to give this place a try after craving some Korean style chicken.
Overall a solid pick, though not sure if it an option for repeat from me.
The food and portions are solid and light.
The wings are nicely battered where you get a good crunch, but doesn't feel like you are chewing on a crouton.
The regular fries are as they are called. Regular. Nothing to write home about.
The Bonchon Bowl was a nice balanced pick. I got it with spicy chicken. And as someone not shy from spice it got to me pretty quick. Great flavor alongside the heat. Plus, with the assorted veggies in the bow and white rice it is an overall healthy and nutritional pick.
The price for base items plus combo can be a bit daunting if you are looking to eat on a budget. Most items will average between $9-13. Then an addional $3.50 for side and drink. You are looking at an average of $14-17 per person. Couples beware. As well as the kind that consider themselves gracious tippers. You can expect a total at minimum for $33-36 if both need a combo. Before tip.
While I can say the area is nice, the look is clean and the food is flavorful. Some options may have you feeling like it just ain't worth the price. Notably the soy garlic wings. Which grow tired and bland as you eat due to a lack of flavor evolution. Would recommend getting the wings with some kimchi for a bit of a boost to the flavor profile. Just be aware some sides have a premium charge on top of the combo charge.
If you are in the area, got the money and are familiar with Korean options. You probably already frequent here or soon will. Those who need to budget, aren't hype for Korean flavor options or would need to drive a but to try this place out. Look for somewhere else a bit more viable. This ain't it.
Wish the store success with its clientele. Because just being here for lunch I do see a decent draw and appeal here. Just can assure it ain't...
Read moreWe ordered from here for the first time yesterday. We had been wanting to try it so when we got a coupon in the mail for 5 drumsticks for free, we decided to use the coupon and try it. My husband ordered the drumsticks and I ordered bone in wings. We also ordered an order of pork potstickers and the donuts. First of all, when we went to use the free coupon, we were told in order to use it, we would have to buy 5 to get 5 free. This was no where stated on the coupon! The bone in wings were ordered and instead we got boneless wings. I hate boneless wings so was very disappointed they got this wrong! The chicken crispness was awesome so I wish I had gotten it plain instead of with the sauce. The sauce ruined it was crispy, but very sticky with sauce and hard and messy to eat. In addition, the sauce was very salty and almost inedible with the heavy taste of salt. In the future, if we order again, I will definitely order plain with no sauce. Same with the potstickers. Sauce on them was the same - way too salty and overpowering. The sauce we had on both chicken and potstickers was the garlic soy. The donuts were large and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. They were okay, but I wouldn’t order them again. They came with a sweet dip but we didn’t really use it. Took a couple bites of donut and threw them away. Most of the boneless wings were wasted since I had ordered the bone in. We will try some of their other menu items but if we try the chicken again, we will definitely get it without any...
Read moreBonchon’s Webster location did not disappoint!! We came here because I wanted to let my boyfriend try this place for the first time and he loved it! It’s a different concept from other locations because you order your food at the register instead of it being restaurant style. The manager was the one who took our order and he was super helpful with picking items to try. He was very friendly and didn’t make us feel rushed when making a decision. He definitely created a welcoming atmosphere. Even though everything was delicious, I have a few highlights: The wings (spicy and soy garlic) were so tasty. The chicken is double fried (which is the Korean way) so it has a very nice crisp texture. The spicy is definitely spicy so if you can’t handle it, you might want to try soy garlic and maybe another flavor. If you can, TRUST ME! It’s totally worth it!! Something about that flavor makes me tolerate the spice 😅. The bulgogi fries can totally be a meal on its own. It’s basically loaded fries with beef but the flavor is soooo good! If you’re a fan of loaded fries, you will love this! Lastly, the Korean donut. It’s a nice sweet treat to end your meal. It has cinnamon on it and comes with sweet cream as a dipping sauce. If you love flavor, you definitely have to try this place out! I will definitely be...
