My husband and I went to Panera tonight and definitely received a horrible experience. We walked to the closest counter to order, and no one was there. Then, a woman around her early 20s came up to the other cash register behind the counter. She looks at us and doesn't say a single word. We look at her. Still silence.... so we sidestep over to her cash register. Suddenly, a random guy popped up asking about soda cup sizes. He leaves, still standing slightly close. She looks at us. I broke the silence. I said I'd like to order. She suddenly turns around and ignores me to speak to her coworker in the back. She then turns around and says, " What are you guys doing?" or something along the lines because she mumbled out the words. I said, "We'd like to order." She looks at me like I'm not speaking English. Then, seeing maybe she's slow in the noggin and not just plain rude, I pointed at the guy and said, " I was waiting for him to finish." She still looks at me like I have 2 heads. I said, "I'd like the pick 2". She cuts me off saying "Oh I am helping her first." Both of us turned around and saw a middle-aged woman standing there, and she wasn't there before. We decided enough was enough and left. Horrible experience. This is worse than the woman at McDonald's drive-through who ran away crying because she didn't understand my husband's question in English. I can't believe people want a living wage. How about giving a satisfactory experience at your job? Based on her performance, she should be making $1 an hour. I'd fire that employee in a heartbeat. Ridiculous. Panera needs to have better hiring policies and make sure employees have at least some intelligence, can pronunciate, wear clothing appropriate to their job, not be rude, and able to greet people properly. By the way, this was at the Haggerty location close to 14 mile. This leaves a bad taste in our mouth. It'll be an extremely long time till we decide ever to come back to...
Read moreThe woman who was working the drive-thru speaker at 2:30pm on Monday, May 12th should not be working in customer service and Panera will only keep her employed if they want to lose business. We pulled into the drive-thru and I asked for a minute to look over the menu. My boyfriend is extremely sick, so it took him a second to tell me what he wanted to eat. She comes back on the loud speaker shortly after, “Hi welcome to Panera, were you ready to order yet..?” I reply, “No, I’m sorry just give me one more second.” The worker says, “Ok? I guess just let me know when you’re ready?” In the most rude, condescending tone. I reply with, “yeah I plan to.” Then we’re finally ready and I begin ordering and she cuts me off “oh! I’m not ready, one second!” What’s with the petty, unprovoked attitude? Your job description is to quite literally wait on people. Mind you, there’s not a single other person in the drive-thru in front of us, or behind us, so it’s not like we were holding up other customers. I’ve worked in the service industry for the past 10 years and still do, that behavior is unacceptable for any business who wishes to thrive. Should probably clean house so employees like her aren’t projecting their miserable life onto...
Read moreI feel like the old location was somehow better. Ever since they moved to the new location and then change the curbside rules to have to have a minimum order of five dollars things went downhill. (Tangent — I would order a coffee and bagel and it did not reach the minimum and I am not able to enter the restaurant with three small kids so I’m now unable to do that). The drive-through now is closed half the time, and the curbside pick up experience is always horrible. The most recent time I went it stated my order would be ready at 11:30 and I got there at 11:25 and checked in expecting to wait for five minutes or so. I waited until 11:45 with a now screaming baby and toddlers before I just got all 3 kids out of the car and went in the restaurant to pick up my own order. If you have small kids, you know how much of a struggle this is and how upset I was that no one could bring me my food curbside after 15 minutes of waiting. I called and it just rang for 4 minutes straight before I hung up. This is ridiculous and it was even ordered before their rush-hour which supposedly starts at 11:30. Unbelievable. 2 stars because the food is...
