I wasn’t going to post this but because of customer service being bad I had to do it … The ladies looked drain like they had a bad day idk but her customer service was bad I asked for jalapeƱo cheese bagels then she just went straight to charge me not even asking would you like anything else? Then I asked what kind of soup they had and she just looked at me pointing at the sign telling me it’s up there like seriously!! I got 3 bagels she didn’t give me napkins no cream cheese even if I have to buy it but not even bother to ask šŸ™„ Then I got to the car I got one bite then there’s this black plastic Poor customer service or maybe was because I was Hispanic I been getting a lot of that now in days 🄓 Bagels 🄯 pale plastic inside

AND THEY ATUALLY PUT WATER WHIPPED CREAM AND ICE WHEN I CALLED TO ASK FOR ANOTHER ITEM OR REFUND THEY SAID NO.. ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES SAID " YOU DONT GO TO MCDONALDS AND ORDER A SANDWICH AND GIVE IT BACK AND GET A REFUND.. " I ACTUALLY JUST WANTED SOMETHING ELSE NOT EVEN THE REFUND... IM REALLY UPSET BECAUSE WE ALL LOVE THAT PLACE THEY LITERALLY LOST 10 CUSTOMERS... THIS IS NOT INCLUDING SOME TIMES THAT WE HAVE GONE THAT THEY ACCT ALL SASSY BEING RUDE WHEN WE ORDER... UPSET...

This is a reliable choice when you are looking for a solid bagel. They have a nice selection as well as different cream cheeses. The sandwiches are filling considering the price it is a good deal. Pictured is the California Turkey sandwich which has cucumber cream cheese, very tasty. But to be honest, Panera bagels are better. Four stars because the tables always have crumbs on them every time I go in there I have to wipe off the table myself.

Tucked into the bustling West Loop, The Great American Bagel is a rare find — the kind of place that turns a casual breakfast run into a crave-worthy ritual. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the comforting aroma of freshly baked bagels and a team that treats you like a regular, even if it’s your first visit.

Let’s talk bagels: they’re legit. Boiled and baked to perfection, with that ideal balance of crisp exterior and chewy center, these are not your average corner-store bagels. Each flavor — from classic sesame to bold jalapeƱo cheddar — is crafted with care. The everything bagel is a personal favorite: generously seasoned, not too salty, and just the right amount of crunch.

But what really sets this place apart? The sandwiches. Whether you’re grabbing a classic egg and cheese or diving into a piled-high turkey avocado on an asiago bagel, every bite is layered with fresh ingredients and serious flavor. The portions are generous, the options are endless, and everything is customizable to a fault.

Service is fast, friendly, and efficient — even during the morning rush. Prices are fair for the quality and size, and the consistency keeps locals and newcomers coming back.

The Great American Bagel – West Loop isn’t just a bagel spot. It’s a neighborhood staple, the kind of place you keep in your rotation for mornings that deserve better than boring...

I finally stopped by The Great American Bagel after passing it so many times on my morning walks with my pup—and I’m so glad I did!

It was a sunny Saturday and the place looked inviting, so I wandered in to see what all the bagel buzz was about. First impressions? The shop is super clean, which is always a plus in my book. Most of the staff were warm and welcoming, though I have to say the cashier felt a little cold. Maybe she was having an off day—hey, we all do. It didn’t ruin the experience, just felt a little ā€œmehā€ compared to the rest of the team.

Now, let’s talk about that lox cream cheese and scallion cream cheese—TO. DIE. FOR. Creamy, flavorful, and just the right amount of extra. I could honestly eat those by the spoonful (don’t worry, I didn’t... yet). Pair them with one of their freshly baked bagels, and you're in breakfast heaven. They’ve got a great variety too—plain, everything, asiago, cinnamon raisin—you name it.

Prices are fair for what you get. Not the cheapest bagels in town, but definitely worth it for the quality and flavor. I’ll be back—next time with my dog waiting outside and a toasted...

First time in Chicago…. My cousin had GAB delivered to my room via grub hub… bagels were delicious! Arguably better than my usual Panera bread bagels.

Before leaving town…. decided I’d walk over to their location since it was just a few blocks away from where I was staying.

This is where the loss of two stars came about! Customer service was not the best.

There were two young ladies working that morning. The one who waited on me (tall, slim, brunette, short hair) was not the most pleasant! She just seemed short and unenthusiastic about serving me.

I only had one request, because I was goin to be taking them back home…. the bagels wanted were the fresh ones from the front of the trays.

The ones at the back were darker which usually means they’re the day olds. While she did begrudgingly accommodate my request, it was clear by her demeanor.. I was being extrašŸ¤”ā‰ļø

Maybe I was, but DAMN IT!…. I wanted the fresh ones šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£! Seriously though…...
