This is my second time going there today and the first time was bad I got the eggplants however they were edible so I didn’t complain today. I said, let me go back and try something different. Maybe a lot of people don’t order the eggplants maybe that dishes not their best Today I had lasagna the bottom of the lasagna I couldn’t even cut it with a fork. It was so bad it tasted horrible. I ordered a small house salad on the side so I can have it as an appetizer. The salad didn’t show up until the lasagna came together which is no problem. The salad was absolutely the worst salad I’ve ever tasted it, Chicago how can you mess up a lettuce, tomato, cucumber salad the lettuce was horrible. The tomatoes had spots on them and barely even had any onions in there. The ball of this salad was very small and they charged me 795 for the salad alone. My whole bill was $31 for the worst Italian meal you can possibly have. I can’t believe they have the audacity to even charge this much and before I even started eating I asked for a little bit of olive oil for the bread, I was told no I had to pay for it. Are you kidding me one dollars for a small piece of lasagna that doesn’t even taste good and it was made like two days ago stuck on the bottom of the plate and the lettuce salad that somehow you managed to mess up and you can’t even give people little bit of olive oil when they ask for it are you serious we have to pay for the olive oil. Also, save your money go to a sit down restaurant you’ll get way better service somewhere else With a server for probably five dollars more tip included. This was horrible never going back here again I only post this review because their prices are ridiculous for the quality of the food that you get. I don’t know how people go for pizza who knows but regular menu items don’t even bother ordering anything from the left side of the menu- eight dollars for that salad you should be ashamed of yourselves you should go out of business that is a crime. I don’t know how you think it’s OK to charge 795+ tax for that horrible salad that you’re serving at a house salad at least make sure the lettuce is in. Good quality, 1595 for a piece of sticky lasagna at least make sure the food is good the prices you charge for the amount of food that you give and the quality wow wow And then you guys have the nerves to be asking for a tip at the cashier without any servant staff, and the one person walking around is rude. Oh no, I’m glad I didn’t tip her at...

Horrible customer service!!!! Don't bother dining at Pompeii!! I called in a problem with my delivery order in less than 24 hours and was refused a full refund. You can keep the measly $2!!

I have been a customer of Pompeii's on Taylor street for the last 48 years. Today was my last day as a customer. I will never dine at Pompeii again!

My GF and I have experienced rude customer service on multiple occasions at the takeout window and when ordering via phone. They didn't want to be bothered with adding or removing ingredients in their salads! Today was the last straw, as I had ordered my usual last night on Tuesday, April 11, 2016, a Chicken Chopped Salad and large Minestrone soup, sans the pasta. I let them know that I have Celiac and cannot consume food made with gluten. "I would like my soup without the spoonful of pasta (Apparently it's added later, which is great for me!)". I was famished yesterday, so I didn't notice that the soup had pasta in it. Plus, this was the first time that they added pasta to my order after requesting that it be left out. I discovered pasta in my soup while eating yesterday's leftovers. I immediately called to notify them that they had left the pasta in my soup. The manager refused to issue a full refund for my soup because I called today instead of yesterday....are you kidding me?! What century are you in?! You are totally clueless about customer service! I was offered a $2 refund. No thanks! I'll just take my complaint to the higher ups at, 'THE INTERNET'!!!

You just lost a customer of 48...

Decided to eat in Little Italy today. We parked and decided on going to Pompei. We hadn't eaten at this location before despite coming to the area often. When entering this location you go to the counter and order as you go down the line. You pay, get your number and drink cups and then go find a table and get your drinks as well. Once you find a table you put your number in the metal holder and they will bring your food once its ready. The portion sizes are definitely decent here and you shouldn't have a problem being full. We ordered 3 items, ceasar salad, chicken parmigiana, and pasta fagioli soup. The soup I ordered large and probably could have been ok with a small order. It was good soup, kind of cold, not excellent but still a favorite of mine. The chicken ceasar had to many croutons and also the chicken was dry and cool. The chicken parmigiana came with pasta with sauce and there is definitely a good portion. Chicken was dry as well buy flavor was good. You also get a basket of breads with your meal. We had eaten out where the garage doors are open and it was pleasant except for a bunch of flies hovering around the fan area to the right of us. I would recommend this restaurant to people, unfortunately little Italy is losing most of its Italy. If you come here now, most of the restaurants and stores are not Italian anymore which used to be why many of...

Atmosphere: On Google, this looked like a wait to be seated, have a waiter restaurant-- this is incorrect. You seat yourself and order at the register. You're given a number and the food is brought to you.... just like Panera Bread. Nicely decorated atmosphere. The bathroom was clean. Service: The employees were friendly. Food comes out fast. Food: The food was hot, however, it was not appetizing. We had the fettuccine Alfredo, "homemade" spinach ravoli (far from homemade... definitely frozen), and the cheese garlic bread. I've had better Alfredo from Walmart jars and even from $1 Knorr pasta packets from Walmart. I do make my own Alfredo too, but despite this, the pasta dishes were not good at Pompei. They were very disappointing. I had to add Seasonings to my pasta and it still wasn't great. I'm not sure how they're keeping up with rent in the West Loop because the food simply was not good. The cheese garlic bread was okay.... pretty standard. Melted slice of cheese on top of bread. The complimentary plain bread came cold, with butter and was a little stale feeling. The Pompei Lemonade was actually just Minute Maid Lemonade from the fountain. I will not be returning. Maybe they're better at food items other than pasta. Disappointing, not fresh pasta, should not cost $15.99 each. We ended up spending $52 from what we ordered but it wasn't good.

OMG! I'm 1/2 Sicilian & I am telling you It's hard to find stuffed artichokes. NEVER have I one this delectable! The Mediterranean salad was fresh & delicious as well as the spinach lasagna. Lots of drink choices including my favorite, herbal tea & lemon. An employee, Damy went to great lengths to explain to us how to view the interactive menus on the screen near the ordering area, help us order & he even went on a hunt & found me honey for my tea!! Great service! The main area is like a cross between cafeteria & table service where you order at the front & they bring it to your table with utensils & drinks being self service. This is my first time here and I will definitely be back. My business partner and I have a new favorite place! I love the laid back atmosphere of the main dining room & the optional rooms for events, indoors & outdoors. I'm even considering having a business event there now too!
