I’m honestly shocked at the low ratings for this place — it makes me wonder if we even dined at the same restaurant. I rarely write reviews, but I couldn’t stay quiet after such an incredible experience.
From the moment I walked in, the ambiance transported me. It’s refined without being pretentious — a rare balance that so many “fine dining” spots in LA fail to strike. Dim lighting, soft French jazz humming in the background, and a calm, curated elegance set the tone immediately.
Now let’s talk about the food — mon dieu. Every dish I tried was intentional, beautifully plated, and genuinely delicious. The Mussles Mariniere was rich and perfectly seasoned. The Chocolate Mousse for dessert? Light, delicate, and left me speechless. Even the Pizzette Provencale was memorable.
Service-wise, I felt seen — not hovered over, not rushed, just thoughtfully cared for. Our server was knowledgeable and had real insight into the wine list, which paired beautifully with our meal.
I can’t help but think this place might be misunderstood. I’ve eaten at acclaimed restaurants all over LA, and this one left a lasting impression. It deserves better than its current star count. I’ll be back —...
Read moreLast night, my wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying a spontaneous New Year’s Eve dinner at Coucou in West Hollywood, and we can’t say enough good things about the experience. We happened to walk by and were warmly greeted by James, who also turned out to be our server. His gracious hospitality set the tone for the evening, as he made sure we had a perfect table on the patio, comfortably situated near a heater and even accommodating our dog, Lola.
The seafood tower was a showstopper—fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The steak frites were perfectly cooked, and my wife declared her dirty martini the best she’s had in ages.
The ambiance on the patio was cozy and chic, but the interior of the restaurant was equally stunning. From the inviting bar to the luxe details in the restroom, including Flamingo Estate hand soap, every detail was thoughtfully curated.
Coucou exceeded all expectations and made our impromptu celebration a truly memorable evening. We can’t...
Read moreOne of the best restaurant openings I’ve been to in the last year. Coucou is a lovely addition to the Weho culinary scene. The menu is thoughtfully unique and is an ode classic Parisian cuisine but with a twist.
We got the fried olives (delectable), the zucchini beignets (light yet savory), the steak tartar (fresh and filling), the short rib (savory again but not too heavy), and the haute dog (my new guilty pleasure). Everything came out promptly and the waitress and team did a lovely job of staying attentive.
The ambiance and interior design is well done. Not overly flashy but Parisian with modern touches. Ideal for date nights or girls nights. I even saw a business dinner too.
Overall, Coucou is a restaurant worth going to again and is well executed. There were three or four other dishes we wanted to try and we will return soon to do so. I’ve gone to a few other restaurant openings in the last year and Coucou by far was...
