Disappointing Service—Not Worth the Hype
Went during opening weekend with a 9 PM reservation and arrived at 8 to have drinks at the bar. Upon arrival, valet mentioned the bar might be closed but assured us they wouldn’t charge the valet fee if we found out it actually was and left.
When we got inside, the bar was full—both with seated guests and people standing around it. However, the hostess informed us that we weren’t allowed to stand near the bar because it would “overcrowd” the tables—despite the fact that others were already standing there. So why the double standard? It made no sense. Instead of accommodating us, they simply told us to come back in an hour for our reservation.
Annoyed but still willing to give the place a chance, we decided to grab our car from valet to get drinks elsewhere while we waited. And that’s where the real issue began. The same valet attendant, Jonathan, who had just told us there’d be no charge if we left, suddenly insisted we pay the valet fee before handing over our keys. The car was right there in front of us, but they literally refused to give it to us until we paid. For a restaurant of this supposed caliber, charging for valet is already questionable—no high-end establishment on the island does this—but what’s worse is making up the rules as they go and arguing with guests over a fee they had already agreed to waive.
This kind of treatment would never happen at The Breakers, where hospitality is the priority. Instead of making things right, they doubled down, forcing us to pay before begrudgingly handing over the keys—without even the courtesy of opening the car doors for us.
The entire experience left such a bad taste in our mouths that we didn’t even return for our reservation. I can’t comment on the food, but frankly, I have no interest in ever finding out. Palm Beach has plenty of well-established restaurants that actually understand service and hospitality—this is not one of them.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. The only redeeming quality was the ambiance, but that alone isn’t enough to bring me back. Save yourself the frustration and stick to places that actually value...
Read more4 of us went to Milo last night and we won’t be returning. You are charged $10 to valet if you can even find it as there is little signage. Add a $5 tip and it’s $15 to valet and the guys aren’t very nice. I ordered Halibut and it had bones in every bite! After 3 bites we called over the manager and he said he would fix it. My 3 table mates were into their entrees and they sent out Pita for me while I waited. My halibut arrived again and more bones this time. There was a spine running right through the center and was sticking out the side! Called over the manager again and showed him my bone I had just put on the plate and the big one sticking out the side! He offered Salmon instead and I now waited for that! My table mates are now finished with their food and I finally got the salmon which was very good. They brought out complimentary fruit for them to eat while I had my dinner. The bill came. The waitress proudly said they didn’t charge me for the halibut, ONLY THE SALMON. I have no words… They should have, at least, comped my meal, if not the whole table! One of my friends couldn’t identify an item on the bill. Waitress said it was a glass of Pinot Noir. My friend was shocked she paid $37 for a glass of wine. Manager returns explaining that is the only Pinot Noir they have. She asked why they didn’t offer alternatives and he said she should have read the wine list.
We will not be returning. My friends and I eat out quite often at fine establishments all over Palm Beach and this was remarkably lame. They ended up speaking to us like we were difficult people, which we are not. I have never had anything like this happen and I’m no Spring Chicken.

Read moreDining at Milos in West Palm Beach was an exceptional experience, showcasing the very best of Mediterranean seafood and hospitality. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and were seated without waiting. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh flavors. We started with a vibrant seafood platter featuring a variety of expertly sliced raw fish, each dressed with delicate herbs and a drizzle of olive oil. The freshness of the seafood was immediately apparent, and the subtle garnishes elevated each bite. Next, the saganaki was perfectly crisp on the outside and creamy inside, complemented by a squeeze of lemon and a sprig of parsley. The sardines were another highlight simply prepared with olive oil and lemon, allowing the natural flavors to shine through. The grilled line caught calamari, served with a side of squid ink risotto, was tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of char and seasoning. For the main course, the whole grilled lavraki was a showstopper: moist, flaky, and topped with capers and fresh herbs, served alongside lemon wedges for a bright finish. As a side, we had the Greek salad, featuring ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, olives, and a slab of creamy feta, all topped with fresh greens. Every ingredient tasted as if it had just been picked. Service at Milos was attentive and knowledgeable, with staff eager to explain the menu and offer recommendations. The pacing of the meal was perfect, allowing us to savor each course without feeling rushed. We cannot wait to go back and try more...
