Husband and I wanted to try a new place. Saw the mixed reviews but decided to take a chance. It was a weekday early evening 6:15pm basically empty when we arrived. Took over 20ish mins to get our drinks ( 1 martini & 1 margarita $45!) a little steep but expected in location- however the drinks didn’t match the price - the martini was fine but mine was way too sweet and could barely taste the tequila. It was whatever decided to just continue forward. Because the bar service was so slow and it happened to be semi nice out we decided to take advantage of the outside as it has a great atmosphere + there were multiple servers on so assumed service would be better out there. (Which it was our server was prompt & attentive ) I was expecting sooo much more from the food from what I saw on website and reading the menu sounded absolutely delish. Our appetizer the Latin plantain chips the chips were fabulous ! However the description of the dip didn’t match it was smashed avacado but no flavor and didn’t seem fresh with 3 little peppers on top. Portion size was accurate though so we decided to take a leap of faith into main course. The kimchi fried rice sounded absolutely Devine- however it was absolutely disappointing. Frozen vegs for sure , the 1 fried egg of top ( I feel like it needed 2 ) was over cooked and dish over all super dry. Flavor was there but maybe 2 or 3 little pieces of cabbage and when you think of kimchi you think lots of pickled cabbage. But we ate what we could - realized there’s no dessert listed on menu which was a bummer and asked for the check- expected pricey but $100 for 1 app 1 entree and a beer and a glass of wine during happy hour was a bit much. Then realized the gratuity was included. Ok fine no biggie it’s typical now a days. When we pulled up we noticed there was valet we were like great because there’s no where close to park- gave our ticket (thinking it was complimentary valet since we were eating at the restaurant) nope $20 . If I would have known I would have just parked in the garage and walked/ taken the complimentary golf carts around town . But it is what it is over priced - under whelming but was worth a try. Most likely won’t be...
Read moreMy brother and I went today to celebrate his birthday, I invited him to brunch. Right away as we walked in the server greeted us saying hi ladies, my brother has long hair and is often mistaken by being a girl, this doesnt bother him. We sat down and were looking at the menu about 15 minutes before the server went up to us. Again, she called us ladies, my brother corrected her and the server stared at him and asked “why are you telling me this” my brother told her she called him a lady twice, again hes used to it, but i feel like the way she responded was extremely rude and unprofessional. I also noticed she didnt greet us the same way as she was greeting other customers. Made me feel like she either had something against hispanics, or maybe against the lgbt community. Regardless I wasnt planning on leaving a tip because her service was terrible and she made me feel uncomfortable, but unfortunately for me, the gratuity was automatically added to the bill. I really wanted to leave and not even order because of the treatment we received from the server, but we made a 45 minute drive there, plus i had paid for valet parking, and we were ultimately excited to try this restaurant we saw on tiktok, so im a little disappointed that we didnt get the service we were expecting. I will say the valet guys were sweet and polite...
Read moreBartenders aren’t that attentive…and there’s 2 of them. 8:23 small plate food order went in that arrived at 8:59…And it’s clear that no one went back to the kitchen to check on the food/had food runners and they just let it sit in the window; because the cook delivered it themselves and noted they had to re drop the fries because they had “gotten cold”. Plus poke is a cold dish, so it doesn’t need any time to “cook.”
Drink (first one) sat completely empty on ice for about 8 minutes and almost empty (where you could tell it was time to ask for another) for about 13 minutes, and no bartender has came over to ask for another round since it was first delivered. I took a look down at the rest of the bar (un-crowded, 4 one side & 3 on the other, slow well) and noticed there were other patrons sitting with empty beers and wines, while the attendant stood at the register . At 9:07, the remainder of my food finally arrived and it was the first time I saw the bartender actually go to the kitchen. My other favorite thing is watching Other patrons stare down the bartender because they need something while they pretend to ignore them. A simple look up of acknowledgment is all a person appreciates. Coming from this industry, I just hate seeing poor training & service. Most bartenders don’t even realize...
