Purple Lotus Kava Bar — Restaurant in West Palm Beach

Upon entering this establishment, I was initially struck by its beauty. As a regular patron of Kava Bars for the past nine years, I was excited to discover this gem while indulging in a sweet treat next door. I entered the venue with a dear friend to plan our next study session, expecting a pleasant experience.

However, my brief visit took a disheartening turn when I approached the bartender, Devon, to kindly ask for access to the restroom. To my utter disbelief, he denied me this fundamental human right in front of other patrons, displaying a demeaning attitude that was both shocking and uncalled for. His assertion that using the restroom was contingent upon making a purchase was not only unfounded but also utterly disgraceful.

In all my years of dining and socializing in various restaurants, I have never encountered such a lack of common courtesy. I felt deeply embarrassed and disrespected by his actions. It is beyond comprehension how someone could presume to wield such authority and treat another person in such a reprehensible manner, especially denying a woman the basic right to use the facilities.

As someone who invests a significant amount of money in Kava Bars each month, it is with a heavy heart that I must convey I will no longer be returning to this particular location due to Devon's abysmal customer service and complete lack of respect. I had an ok time. The venue was nice and clean. I didn not appreciate the service and after watching how the drinks were made and served in and out of a sink where an instapot was just was not our deal so we left. At that point I woulf have given the place 3 stars, howeger I attempted to contact the owner and it got bad and unprofessional from there. The owner was rude, period right from the bat. Told me I mever even came into the place and I was trying to scam him, then he said we were kicked out that night all while harrassing me through text. I asked three (3) seperate times for him to stop harrassing me. I literally had to threaten police intervention before he stopped. All whilst putting down my military service (I am a veteran) and any other thing he could do. I will not be going here again and will make sure to let anyone I know the same. The phone number for other locations leads to the same guys phone, so the whole thing is really janky all together. After I saw the drinks served from the sink I had my card contest the charges and get me a refund. I also reported them to local health as well as BBB. My American legion and VFW as well. This place is an eye sore to the community and doesn't bring the best clientele from around the city. I went in there with a friend when it opened because we thought it was a new bar next to where in lived. The staff was rude when telling us it was a kava bar. We had no idea what kava was. Since it's been open, they have expanded outside and nearly 100% of their clientele are outside smoking, usually blocking the public sidewalk as you walk by. There is hardly ever anyone inside. They get their kava drink, take it outside and smoke. The smoke is so bad, you can smell it as soon as you walk out of my condo building. And the trash around the area has increased, cigarette buds and the paper cups they serve the drinks in everywhere.
