CULINARY SORCERY!!! The Google doesn't give enough space to write what needs to be written about this extraordinary Hidden gem in West Valley City. I have never had sushi like this before. This isn't your grandparents sushi joint. Victor and his team provide an absolutely magical experience! They are all friendly and polite, and very attentive! And the food and drinks are BOSS level. Every tray of sushi/sashimi is gorgeously crafted and presented. They use excellent quality ingredients to craft a masterful fusion of traditional sushi flavors with a wonderfully curated variety of non-traditional flavors. You don't walk away feeling like there was too much fusion and not enough sushi. You walk away with your mind blown at how incredible this sushi is. And then there are the appetizers and the drinks! The passion fruit mojito with sake, instead of rum, stole the show! I almost asked for an IV drip. The strawberry daiquiri was fantastic, and the Okinawa Oasis has a depth of flavor that you don't find in most cocktails. They even dehydrate their own citrus slices for the drink garnishes!
The portions are generous and the prices are far better than average. Do not let yourself miss out on this culinary fantasy. They even have a VIP room for private events. You can sit in the main dining area, or enjoy yourself in the sushi bar in the back. The music is cool and relevant and just the right volume. Crunch is just under a year old, but with food and service this good, they're going to last a lifetime! Go say hi to Victor and ask him for his recommendations. From there, just sit back and...
Read moreWe really enjoyed this fusion Sushi spot! We saw it on two different Utah local food reviewers Instagram pages so we knew it was likely going to be really good. It really was so good!! We ordered the Lychee lemonade mocktail. So refreshing, tasty, and unique! Kani pumps. Order the Kani pumps! The fried plantain added such a fun element. Totally delicious and unique. I'll be dreaming of these till I go back. The Mongolian beef with an upgrade to fried rice. By far the best Mongolian beef we had ever had. Tender beef, very generous portion, perfect flavors. The fried rice had that hot wok taste. The Cowboy roll. Fantastic! Fusion food at its finest The On Fire roll! So great. Tons of kani! Everything we ordered was very visually appealing. It'll be hard to branch out next time because of how good everything we had was. The servers we had taking care of us were truly outstanding. I don't say that lightly. They were very busy but made sure we were well taken care of. One of them came out of the building as we were walking away just to thank us one more time for coming in. Wish I had got their names so I could give em a shout out. Maybe they were short staffed in the kitchen, but things took awhile to come out, like longer than expected even with it being busy. We look forward to the next time we're in Utah...
Read moreAwful “sushi” and experience. Do not come here if you want traditional sushi. They can’t even make nigiri or sashimi proper. All of our rolls including nigiri had tablespoons of tobiko on it, so much we had to scrape it off and even then we ended up returning a roll. The nigiri was cut soo thick, the rice was too big and they put to put tobiko on it? They offered to remake it for me without tobiko. But it was cut too thick. The filet mignon on one of the rolls was so over cooked it was like jerky. Really disappointing and I was super hungry. To make it worse after we ordered the server came back 45 mins later and said sorry I forgot to push enter on your order can you tell me your order again? So we had to wait another 45 mins or so for food. The manager was walking around doing nothing. I had to beg for an appetizer because I was so hungry and they acted like I was the burden. Just not good service or food, waste of my money. If you like traditional sushi don’t come here.
I took the nigiri home because they had remade it and I didn’t want more going to waste, and fed it to my cats and dogs,...
