Food: The dining experience was delightful, with the food beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, avoiding any sense of blandness. I ordered the “Pambazo,” which was indeed tasty, though I found it to be a touch too spicy. Another family member tried a different dish and enjoyed it immensely. Overall, the food was truly enjoyable. Service: The overall experience with the service was positive. After we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated without delay, and the waiter quickly brought us the menu. Regarding the duration from when we placed our order to when our food was served, I can assert that it was a brief wait. In summary, the service was both fast and consistent. Atmosphere: The ambiance was lively and dynamic, characteristic of a Mexican restaurant. It exuded a sense of cultural heritage while maintaining a vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, it felt secure and exceptionally inviting. Menu: While the food was delicious, I noticed that the kids' menu was somewhat limited, featuring only one main item. Although I appreciate the option to add extras to that item, I believe it would be beneficial to expand the kids' menu. Additionally, restructuring the menu for better clarity could enhance the overall dining experience. Nonetheless, the quality of the food was excellent. Presentation: The overall presentation of the food dishes we received was satisfactory, and I believe there is potential for improvement if necessary. My critique stems from the fact that the dish I ordered, the "pambazo," appeared quite dry, although it was delicious. If I am correct, this traditional Mexican dish is typically served soaked in sauce, but in this instance, it seemed more arid than expected. I want to emphasize that this did not detract from the flavor of the dish in any way. Seasonality: The seasoning on all the dishes we ordered during our visit today was excellent. However, this brings me back to my previous critique about the "Pambazo" I ordered. I believe the kitchen could benefit from being more mindful of the appropriate level of spiciness for certain dishes like this one. To sum it up, I really enjoyed my time here and I would consider coming back. The staff and waiters were fantastic—thank you for everything!

La Casa Del Tamal is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in the Salt Lake area - the menu items are authentic (not even sightly Americanized), and they are always well prepared and served by genuinely friendly staff. At a previous visit, I took a client here who was from Mexico, and he was amazed at the authenticity of the place, both with the menu item selections and ultimately the flavors. At my latest visit with my family, we ordered the Molcajete, the Pambazo, and the Tacos de Birria con Consome. We also got an assortment of Aguas Frescas (Fresa, Piña, and Horchata). The Frescas tasted fresh - I'm going out on a limb to say that I think they must make them fresh at the restaurant (most places buy a prepackaged mix, and there is a big difference in taste!). The Molcajete is simply mouth watering delicious - it's hard for me to not order this every time. You HAVE to try it at least once - the assortment of meat, chile, cheese, and marinade sauce is incredible. At the same time, the Pambazo is the best I've ever had as well. These are hard to find, and this place certainly serves the best. The Tacos de Birria definitely rank in the top 5% - there are more Birria places popping up around town that are pretty darn good, so I wouldn't necessarily come here just for the Birria, but you can't go wrong ordering it either. The atmosphere is inviting, and every time I come here, the staff make me feel at home, and the other patrons are always cheery - it's just a place that feels very welcoming. If give this place six stars if I could.

Visit this place on a regular basis but wanted to make an update after we ate there tonight. The service is always great. One of the things I ordered was a tamale. It was goopy and mushy and wet, within the masa, not at all edible, it wasnt done. And it's all good, things happen. I let our server know, and apologized up and down because I hate complaining. He came back and said that it was removed from my bill but "my manager wanted me to let you know that our tamales are steamed and that's the texture that they are etc etc" and that kind of irritated me that the "manager" wanted to make a point rather than just saying sorry or whatever. I've had tamales from here before lots of times and never had an issue before. I know how they are made and kept, I wasn't trying to pry for anything, I just wanted to make them aware. Do better, please :) Super yummy! My family of 5 went and we were blown away that the waitress took and remembered our order (and it was huge) without even writing it down! The consomme is to die for, I could sip it like soup. The rice was super flavorful however the beans were bland and left much to be desired. Still 10/10

La Casa Del Tamal was worth the drive as we live a good 30 minutes away and we were taking out and bringing the food home for our family. I saw the recommendation on Instagram by @femalefoodie and knew our family had to try it! Every dish was fantastic!! Our neighbor is Hispanic and when we are lucky makes the most delicious Mexican food for us. This was similar to hers. The darling girl who helped us told us the Chile Verde green sauce on the enchiladas was her mom's recipe and how amazing it was. She was right!! The sauces were delicious, the food was flavorful and fresh. It is located in the Azteca Indoor Bazaar. Google maps took us to the back of the building. The front door is on the South side so I would suggest parking and going in there, but it looks like some people have gone in the back. From the front you walk all the way to the back and there is the food court. There was also live music going which was fun. You can do a little shopping while you are there too. Great experience!

I’m giving this place a one star rating due to their lack of customer skills. It hasn’t been my first visit to this establishment, however I’ve never tried their “Queso Fundido” (Literally means melted cheese) once they brought it to the table I thought there was an error since it looked like a dish of left over fajita vegetables. I asked the server what this was and she said a queso fundido. This is a Mexican restaurant and I told her this isn’t a queso fundido by Mexican standards or any other standards since it’s pure veggies, minimal cheese and wasn’t even melted. Her first response was well I can’t give you your money back. I didn’t ask for that I did ask for a solution though. She called her manager over and once again I explained the situation, I wanted what I ordered. Instead of finding this to be a moment to solve the problem immediately he responded you’re not getting your money back. I smiled and said he lacked customer service skills. Oh and I failed to mention this was $20-

I thought I had found my favorite place to eat. Great music, vives were great, such an elegant establishment what a big disappointment. It was a humbling feeling of my Mexican culture that quickly went away after tasting the food. Freshly made chips and salsa...yes many places have that, but the flavor was different here. A taste and feeling of the real deal. This place made me proud. I ordered their 7 mares plate. Fish was good. Everything else was old down to the re-cooked tortillas. I love food and know food. Crab was also not freshly cooked. The octopus was so tough and didn't taste like it should that I didn't know what it was at first. I informed my waiter and another waitress. I was told that they would inform the manager, but no one came in the time i waited. I might give them another chance, but i dont want to bring my family here if this is going to be the norm everyone deserves a second chance. Gracias por la comida y tortillas biejas que me dieron.
