Burlington — Local services in West Valley City

We went to this store in hopes of buying a car seat for my toddler daughter. We found one, researched it, and took it to the front for purchase. It was on sale and it was a great price for the value. However once we were checking out we were told that the seat was actually a floor model and they wouldn't be able to sell it to us. We were extremely put out and asked if any other stores near us had it in stock. The cashier may have been new because she was incompetent and took 15 minutes, and the help of another employee to make a phone call. When it turned out there were no other stores with the seat in stock, we went back to find another seat and asked for a discount based the inconveniences we were caused with the first seat. The supervisor was congenial but unwilling to provide any customer service. We spoke to the manager who was absolutely unpleasant and told us that we should have realized the seat was a floor model because "it had tags on it." There was nothing noting that it was not for sale and it had been placed in the clearance section with a clearance tag, how were we supposed to know? While we were still talking with her, she walked away, obviously inept at handling confrontation. Despite our frustrations, we were in desperate need of a seat, and ended up purchasing a "newer" model of the same seat for a more expsive price. This experience was...

Store had a good variety of clothes, toys , home goods, and HBA products. Good prices. Store was somewhat clean. In some areas. A few negatives- a lot of clothes are not in the right spots according to the sizes so you have to double check a clothing item it’s self to make sure the size is actually what you want, do not just go over and assume they are under right sizes on racks. Baskets- a saw a few baskets with trash in them, hangers , food wrappers so this was a hind sight. some of the store areas were trashed from customers shopping and wasn’t picked up this could be due to short staff. the last couple of times I have gone in it was at least a twenty minute wait in line or more to check out so if your shopping slow time to stand in line and expect a wait time and incorporate that into your schedule. and finally I tried to push cart out door like any other normal store apparently it has a locking wheel device so you can’t take out side so when I was walking the wheels locked up and I was walking so the cart stoped abruptly and slammed into my ankle leaving a nice big bruise and welt. First time ever been in a Burlington store, worst experience ever, I will never shop at any of the stores.

Went in to look for dress boots for a dance. I don't know how the store is set up and which way to go towards shoes, so tried to ask some people in the store were to go and finally found the shoe area. Did not find what I needed so I way heading to the door, and a manager with curly wavie gray hair came running up to me yelling at me saying I was asking people for money, which is absolutely unprofessional and she should be fired immediately for her actions and attitude toward a new customer. I would never ask for money from anyone. Conclusion. First time customer in your store was treated and yelled at by your manager/employee. You lost a customer in the same day within 5 mins. Maybe talk to customers with respect and find out the truth. Dont accuse someone of doing something that is absolutely false! Act professional at all times and have a conversation. The manager should feel totally ashamed of herself and the way she acted. I would never act or treat someone the way she did. Got what I needed at another store and they were happy...
