Blackbeard's Brewing Taphouse — Restaurant in Westport

My friend and I came here at 10:30am for breakfast. While we were holding our breakfast menus trying to decide as we waited to be served, one of the servers finally came over and said they meant to change the menus to lunch and took them away from us. It was very disappointing considering we had made it there during their “breakfast” hours. We had no desire to eat lunch food. We main for something small and coffee. They had scones, so we opted for those and a latte. My friend bought two scones and a regular latte for $14. I got one scone and chai latte and it was also $14??? Definitely overpriced and not worth it. Even being the closest coffee/breakfast place in town, we decided to save our money and just brew Costco coffee and make our own breakfast. First time eating here, and the food was amazing! The burgers are full of flavor and loaded with toppings. I ordered the Fire in the Hole burger, and I had Jalapeños falling out everywhere. If you love spicy, this is your burger! I love spicy food, especially heat on my burgers, and this one delivered. I almost couldn't finish it because it was so spicy... but I did. The fries were beer battered, extra crispy, and delicious. My husband had the smokehouse bacon burger. He said it tasted as amazing as it looked. My kids both had the classic, and it did not disappoint! You get so much food for your money. My youngest couldn't even finish her fries, which is rare for her. The root beer was also so delicious! The food except for the fries wasn't that great. My daughter ordered a chicken sandwich and the chicken on the chicken BLT was mushy not juicy. The birria tacos were excessively greasy and consommé was thicker than I would expect it to be. The beer flights were great and one gal that worked with us was amazing. She went above and beyond to make our experience that much better. I wish I got her name as I would give her a shout out. Overall it is a cute place to stop and grab a bite to eat down by the docks.
