We enjoy Highland House carry out. My comments are regarding the carry out locations. The food is very good but the tip options that pop up when paying are unacceptable - 20%, 25% or 30%… 30%!!!! I will not tip more than $2 maybe $3, regardless of what I spend. I place my order, I walk in and I carry the food out to my car. The employees at the carry out locations are not waitresses. It’s disappointing the Highland House seems to want customers to take care of their employees however, that is the responsibility of the business owner. When in the restaurant and having a sit down dinner, I have no problem tipping wait staff 20% and even 30% for exceptional service. Not for carry out. Yes I can ignore the tip options but it’s awfully bold of the Highland House to present such large amounts, when I am certain the employees at the carry out location don't receive a waitresses hourly wage. Not a respectable business practice,...
Read moreFrist time there tried to order over the phone and the person had no clue what I was asking for. Decide to go to the place and give my orders there, I had to waited 30 min and when I went up to the counter my food was sitting on a cart for awhile and she was in the back eating and had a mouth full of food, when she handed it to me. My order was wrong. Missing items, wrong food. I was not going to wait for it to be fixed. Then there was the girl who was working behind the counter that threw someone hat on the ground that was left behind, kept kicking her legs up in the air and wiping food on the floor. The restaurant its self looked like it hasn't been cleaned in awhile u could see food in corners and walls and table needed a good clean. In the end I requested my money back and will not go back there again. I don't even want to...
Read moreThe best breadsticks and garlic cheese dip that you can get around the area. I believe you can drop in anytime to grab a bag of bread, so if you have never tried them, at least do that. Sometimes we will pickup a bag just to provide a carb to whatever meal we are eating that night, like homemade pasta or a simple home cooked salmon meal.
The breadsticks are always warm, buttery and with enough garlic salt to keep you wanting more. Pizzas are decent, I wish the type of cheese they used would be more melty, but the flavors are all there, toppings taste fresh and abundant.
They have a few locations around the area, the original further down m-59, carry-out in white lake, carry-out in Clarkston, as well as sister restaurants like Gus' and Tomato Bros in other areas of the state. All with the same...
