Doubt I'll be returning. Originally came here to try out a shake i had read about. Upon ordering the cashier informed me they only do shakes during certain months which included only two in the summer. So i went ahead & ordered something simple (fries & a bacon cheese dog) before 3 other people, waited twenty minutes while watching everyone else get their food. As i stood at the counter pacing the two cooks were fixing their own meals completely ignoring their surroundings. Finally the cashier noticed me & asked if i needed something, ummm yea my order please. She rushed over as the only two cooks took their food & left. She began throwing old fries into a bag & something wrapped in foil then handed it to me & took off talking on her phone. So i sit down to enjoy my food & what do you know it's wrong.. A plain old hotdog with nothing on it. So i once again make my way to the counter to speak to the cashier. As she questioned me repeatedly about my food i clearly had the evidence of the hotdog along with a receipt showing they were in the wrong. Eventually she agreed she would make my correct hotdog. As i wait an additional 20 minutes for this hotdog i take in the wonderful sights of the cashier playing on her phone, the cooks eating their food in the lobby being incredibly loud. Mind you the entire time I've been there from start to finish there had Only been 2 people to come through other than that nothing nada so this adds to my frustration as to why the lack of attention to orders & the speed. Finally the cashier brings out my hotdog after my fries have well turned to ice. So i ask for the manager & what do you know it's her. I think to myself it's not even worth it & decide to just leave. Very disappointing i had heard many great reviews & to have this as my first experience. It will have to take quite the miracle to get my...
Read moreMy family visited this Five Guys today, 3/21/2021, for supper, shortly before 7pm or so. It appears we arrived during a lull in business, with hardly any customers inside. Between the slow business at the moment and half the tables still being taped off due to COVID precautions, one might think the staff could find time to clean the remaining tables. Nope. Nearly all of the open tables were dirty, with both food crumbs and trash on top. We sat down at one of the only clean ones in the restaurant. While we waited, we saw another family go up and request someone to clean off a table for them to sit at. The employee came out to the dining area and cleaned off ONLY that ONE table, leaving all the others dirty. Later, we saw a couple clean off their OWN table before sitting down. Then halfway through our meal, we saw yet another couple wander around the dining area in search of a clean table. At that point, I went up to the counter and said to one of the five guys: "I've been watching, and there are almost no clean tables left, so if you could send someone out to clean the tables." We stayed another 15 or 20 minutes finishing our meal, and did anyone come out to clean? No. So, around 45 minutes total, and only a single table was cleaned, and that was only because someone had to specifically ask for it. My own mention later of the conditions availed nothing. Yeah, the food was great as usual, but the clear impression is that no one working there cared about the condition of the dining area—had no interest in treating their customers as guests. Manager, are you reading this??? Time for a...
Read moreFive Guys sell a tasty, straightforward burger at a good price.
If you have never eaten there before, the standard burger comes with two big patties of beef, and the "little" burger has one. I have only ordered the little burger, and it is plenty of food. If you order a burger with two patties, you probably have two meals worth of food.
The fries are, compared to the burgers, a relative weak point. They're good but not great. Furthermore, they give you way too many of them. A regular order of fries would probably be plenty for three people, and lot for two. As a result, they tend to be a bit on the expensive side. Selling half orders of fries suitable for one would be a good choice. They also sell cajun fries, which were quite spicy when I ordered them, almost too much so.
Burgers are one of my favorite foods, in part because you can do some very interesting things with them. Although Five Guys do have a lot of topping options available, they tend to be relatively mundane. All the standard choices are the there, but nothing really unique. Do you want bleu cheese and mushrooms on sourdough? French fried onions and horseradish? You'll need to look elsewhere for the more creative options.
Still, what Five Guys do with burgers, they do very well. The burgers are tasty, and actually reasonably priced compared to fast food burgers. If you know what you want, there's definitely a good value proposition to be had at the restaurant. For these reasons, I have rated the food quality as "Excellent" despite my earlier...
