If I could rate negative stars I would, that’s what they deserve. I have never had such a bad experience eating out or even witnessed in the 5 years I worked at a restaurant. I was told by my friends that the pizza is good. I had a chicken cheese steak with pickles and ranch which they charged me $3 for for on top of the price of the sandwich. I went with two friends, and our 4 children for dinner (receipt attached). The waitress forgot to put my daughters pasta kids meal in and her food did not come until after all other party members finished their meal. My friend was told Parmesan was not available yet when my daughters pasta arrived late, there was some on it. I also asked for tap water to drink and was told only bottle water + $2.00 could be purchased - I believe its a regulatory requirement to provide filtered tap water to patrons if requested. When the bill came I questioned the significant up charging for $2 pickles $1.00 for ranch on my cheese steak and $4 for 2 empty cups so the young kids could split their drinks. We were never notified of extra charges when ordering. We were dismissed by our waitress. We paid $80 of the $84 bill. The waitress came running at me screaming about how I am a disgrace and what am I teaching my children and about her 5 children we are stealing from. She even threatened to hit me. She also said if I can’t afford to take my kids out then I should not go. It was not about money - it was principal. Up charging customers for bigger tips is not acceptable. It was embarrassing and unfortunate. I will not return here for dine in...
Read moreWe decided to give this place a try because we always go to the same PIzza place when we are in Wildwood, a place my wife has been going to since she was a kid. We walked in and was warmly greeted by a gentleman working the main counter. And that was the last friendly interaction we had while there. When the waitress came over to take our drink order we asked for water (being a hot August day on the beach) and she would only give us bottled water (which we were already carrying with us anyway) and refused to serve just cups of water (and not apologetically like 'sorry but we only serve bottled water' or something. She was very rude and brisk refusing the request) so we said we would just drink the water we already had. One of my daughters had already drank her bottle so my wife mentioned she could just refill her bottle in the bathroom sink and the waitress then, again very rudely, said NO, you can NOT fill your bottle in the sink. At this point we had had enough of her tone, and just how unwelcome we felt. Like customers were an annoyance to this lady and not the people that paid her paycheck. I really hate leaving negative reviews always trying to give constructive feedback, however other than the guy who seated us, we couldn't find anything positive about this place because we walked out and went to the pizza place 3 blocks up which is where my wife has been going since she was a kid and we have always gotten good...
Read moremy husband and I are pizza lovers. We went to every pizza place on the wildwood boardwalk, trying over 16 plain pizza slices. Our requirements were we had to order from the boardwalk. We chose plain to keep our research fair. Joe's pizzeria scored a 7.5 which was the highest overall rating out of every pizza place on the boardwalk. the cheese was gooey, and pulley, the crust was thin and crisp with flavor, and the sauce was super good tasting. One other place was a close second with Joe's, Route 66 for a fluffier crust, not crispy, and best flavor overall. The winner was ultimately Joe's due to the crispy crust being what most people look for on the boardwalk as a classic Wildwood slice. Sam's pizza was rated only a 6 as the crust tasted like cardboard and had no flavor. We rated cheese, sauce, and crust and took every note into consideration including price. When in Wildwood, Joe's will be where I go for a crispy cheesy, gooey, flavorful slice $5 for a Joe's extra large size plain slice. $3 for route 66. Cheapest slice on the boardwalk was steak 'em up with an under $3 slice - mid tier, but better than 3 brothers, xo and little nicky's.
Next time I'm down the shore we will be tasting topped slices of our top 5 places - follow me to...
