Cliff and his crew are nothing short of fantastic. Wish I could give Maker's Alley 10 stars...because they totally deserves it! After finding MA online, we did a recon visit to check it out for our daughter's Rehearsal Party. She and her fiancé - now husband - live on the west coast but the wedding was being held at Terrain in Glen Mills, PA. Maker's Alley seemed to personify the couple's taste...a low key, bohemian, casual yet cool vibe. It did not disappoint! The entire staff - from the security folks at the door to the kitchen guys to the bartenders - are just so friendly and warm. They truly set the tone for a great experience! There is a great variety of IPAs and the mixed drinks were awesome. And the food that comes out of that Airstream is incredible! The Cali folks went crazy for the crab fries, but absolutely everything was fresh and delicious! (One guest tried their darnedest to figure out out to get the chicken sandwiches back to Orange County!) I realize that it Maker's Alley might not - at first - feel like the right place for an event like a Rehearsal or Engagement party, etc but do yourself a favor and give them a shot. We will DEFINITELY host another important event at MA and look forward to getting that scheduled. Until then, we'll continue to make the hour drive from PA just to hang out at one of our favorite spots. A huge THANK YOU to Cliff and the entire Maker's Alley crew for providing such a stellar and incredibly memorable experience for our daughter's wedding weekend. BRAVO and keep up the great work!...
Read moreVery cool, quaint, kind of community vibe beer garden. The outdoor area is really rad, very comfortable and cozy. They have some propane fire pits scattered around with some large bar games like cornhole, a big connect four and a giant Jenga which was super fun. The bar staff, even though they were busy, were still really quick and the drinks were all good/correctly made.
There was some screw up with my sister's bill that she didn't notice till she got home though. The restaurant ended up double charging her and we tried to call today and after 2 to 4 hours of intermittent phone calls, no one was answering even though they were open and after further inspection through her bank, we found out that she was charged twice; once last night when her tab closed and then again much later that night around bar closing time (?) We can't get a hold of anyone at the bar to help us figure it out. The bartenders were really great when we were there so I don't think it was a malicious thing or done on purpose but the insane difficulty of trying to get a hold of someone to help us figure out the problem is kind of disheartening.
So, in my absolute honest opinion- awesome little bar, really love the atmosphere and the bartenders were great, over all. Even better was the community/people that I met when I was there. Everyone was friendly and made our outing amazing, I truly enjoyed my experience. The only negative is the snafu with our bill and our inability to actually get a hold of the place last...
Read moreOn crowded, colder nights, if you can- get there early enough to get a bar seat or place to stand against inside walls. Best seat outside in breezy, cool or colder weather is outside at the one gas fire pit, on other side of the airstream where the food is cooked- where they have about 4 to 5 Adirondack-like comfy chairs. Just know that wherever you sit- be at the picnic tables, or are standing somewhere, you do need to go to the bar to get your drink order. There does not appear to be walk around cocktail servers. Which they could definitely use on a busy night (if the management is reading this). Along with some sort of obvious destination for people to form a line or the two lines where the bartenders behind the bar will take the drink orders. If you could have a cocktail server with a service bartender on a busy night, just a thought, but I could not see how you wouldn't increase your sales significantly by doing so if it was possible. Otherwise it's an excellent hidden gem atmosphere between two otherwise rather...
