I visited Tulio’s with my boyfriend on the last day of our vacay with our luggage in hand waiting to return to the airport. We arrived in the a.m. eager to try the breakfast burritos. And to our intrigue, were unexpectedly visiting tulios just before the neighborhoods very large pride festival. Upon first entering, the vibes were immaculate. Gorgeous decor, a little kitschy but in a good way. Well thought out style. Staff were dressed in quirky rainbow outfits - ready for pride. We were very quickly asked if we’d been helped and seated in the table we requested - a nice large high top by the window. We quickly learned the man seating us was Tulio himself. We chatted about his restaurant and the neighborhood. We asked for recommendations but ultimately chose the breakfast burrito (chorizo for me - YUM and vegetarian for my boyfriend). Tulio was so gracious to offer us to try the lemon ricotta pancakes as well; on the house. Apart from this so far exceptional service, the FOOD. Good lord, I could die and go to heaven. The burrito was bigger than my head. It could have fed an army. And The TASTE was incredible. Crispy potatoes, spicy chorizo, creamy beans, fluffy eggs all wrapped up in a giant tortilla shell and smothered with a tangy red Enchilada sauce. Seriously y’all - you have to get this burrito. We also ordered a side of potatoes which were just as delicious outside the burrito. Perfectly crisp, welll seasoned, exactly what you want from a potato. And lastly the lemon ricotta pancakes. DIVINE. fluffy, thick, melt in your mouth with real maple syrup drizzled all over. Fresh fruit on the side. WOW. I really could go on but you get my point. To really hit a home run, our server was beyond - excellent service! If you’re reading this and even considering whether you want to try this place JUST GO!! P.s. I’ve never written a review for google or yelp before writing this so yeah. It’s THAT GOOD.
Thank you again Tulio for exceptional service and incredible food at your...
Read moreThis is directly about management NOT the amazing servers. Tonight a group of us sat outside at a high top table and after about ten minutes a VERY intoxicated man started harassing our table. We asked him to leave and offered to help him get an uber. When he continued the server offered to get the manager. What should have been easily handled by the “manager” was anything but. He stood at the table trying to reason with the drunk guy and eventually I got tired of it and gently started guiding him away with the manager. The manager then left the very intoxicated man multiple times and the older man almost stumbled over each time. He repeatedly came back to our table to harass us. The manager then came over and told OUR TABLE that we shouldn’t instigate and call the drunk man over. We told him we didn’t call him over and he then said “well you should be thanking me for taking care of him”…I responded “I am pretty certain that is your job”. He did not like this answer and got very upset with our table. We then told him we didn’t want to proceed with our order but we would pay the server for our drinks. The drunk man then approached our table AGAIN to harass us and the manager was no where in sight. We got up, went inside, told them we wanted to leave and the manager then said he would comp us the bill. We declined and said we wanted to pay for the drink and the tip for the server and the manager walked away and never came back to talk with us again.
At NO POINT were the police or paramedics called for this VERY intoxicated man who could not even stand. And the manager started blaming US for the issue instead of the drunk man. HIGHLY unprofessional and the manager needs more training on how to handle disruptive pedestrians. I have no idea if the guy was served by this restaurant. I think he was walking down the street drunk and decided to start harassing us but still the manager has a responsibility to take care of these types...
Read moreThe restaurant waiters and managers are rude and hostile. My daughters, nieces, and a few friends went to Tulios Tacos and Tequila Bar yesterday. There was a problem with my daughter's receipt and she asked that the receipt was fixed. A few items were added that she had not ordered or received. The waiter was very hostile and rude to her, talking very flamboyant and was up in her face. The manager heard the loud flamboyant noises from his worker and intervened and also jumped in my daughters face. My daughter is 18 years old. These men ought to be ashamed of themselves. My nieces whom are 10 and 12 keep bringing the situation up to me today is the reason I am writing the review. They both said the two men should have never jumped in front of my daughter. This is not a friendly family environment. The manager should have de-esclated the situation, instead he came over and was worse than the waiter. The manager told my daughter to get out of his restaurant while his employee had hands all up in her face. She proceeded to leave as she should have. I am delighted that I wasn't there. Because this would have never went this far. A grown man in my daughters face over a receipt that should have been easily fixed. And money wasn't the issue believe me. Plus my nieces stated the food wasn't very good anyways. Don't know why they chose to eat there, but they will never step foot in Tulios Tacos ever again. And it seems like you have to be a certain way in order to eat there anyway. The waiter was very angry, rude, hostile, and ready to fight my daughter over a receipt that he made mistakes on. Do Not eat at Tulios Tacos unless you have your boxing gloves with you. The employees and managers will fight you over...
