I recently visited the Winder Georgia location where I am a regular customer. This time, I ordered a grilled salmon with two sides: green beans and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, they informed me that they were out of mac and cheese, so I opted for a baked potato instead, agreeing to an additional charge.
After waiting several minutes, I was disappointed to learn that they didn't have baked potatoes either. I requested a refund for the upcharge, but they insisted I choose another menu item, which I didn't want. They refused to refund the extra charge.
After waiting for the manager on duty she claimed I was being "rude" and refused to provide her name when I was merely explaining the situation. I have a video recording of the incident and am willing to share. The manager seemed aggravated when I didn't accept her excuses and started treating me unfairly. The appropriate response would have been to refund the extra charge which was just a couple of dollars with no excuses, especially after wasting so much of my time. However, the unreasonable manager felt it was appropriate to blame everything on me and even threatened to call the police. Instead of refunding me for a couple of dollars due to an upcharge on the baked potato; which they did not have. Instead, she decided to punish the customer and proclaim that she could not refund the extra charge and instead refunded the whole order. How does that make sense to demand that I choose something else or else I cannot get my order? She clearly does not have the company's interest in mind but her own biases. She refunded me for a whole meal that went straight into the trash instead.
Unless this ridiculous and unfair treatment is addressed, I will never return to this location or any other Captain D's location ever again despite being a regular customer. I will also be sharing my experience to my close friends and family who also have enjoyed Captain D's. I was unfairly humiliated and deeply disappointed by the experience and am in hopes that you will make it right. ✅️ Thus is the rude manager that would not give me her name and threatened to call police on me for no damn reason....
Read moreI come here a lot for lunch break and dinner on Sundays and if the food wasnt so good I would say burn the place down to ground and rebuild. Food really good when fresh! The cook (young black guy with tattoos) very nice and respectful young man greeting customers from the back. And gave me and my wife our drinks on the house for such a long wait and for the manager being so rude he Will cook your food fresh if you ask him personally. Drive thru is horrible the young girl with the glasses constantly looks confused and lost and moves really slow the short fat brown skinned manager every one calls (rose) is literally the rudest person I have ever been served by this lady and my wife get to arguing every time we go here.and when I’m by self it’s the same treatment no matter the day She’s a hassle! very unprofessional she disappeared to the bathroom for 20 min while her staff was in need of her help constantly yelling at staff members and being very snarly with customers. Really needs to check her attitude. Can’t say she’s racist cause she’s black and my wife is black so I don’t know what her problem is with my family. Staff does their best moves a little slow at times sound like chaos in the back kitchen. If you dine in it’s mostly old white people dining in so be aware people of color they like to stare so dress to impress I guess lol. If I was the supervisor here I would clean house and keep maybe 2 of the staff members I encountered. The cook and they short lady on drive thru. Everybody else was piss poor Dirty restrooms and drink fountains and trash is always over flowed every time I come here my daughter worked here in high school a loved it even she said the people and the atmosphere has changed alot. Read moreI love Captain D's food, but the condition of this Winder restaurant is inexcusable. I hope this review prevents someone from getting badly hurt. The Winder Captain D's is in DISREPAIR and filthy. The ceiling tiles show an ongoing water/moisture/leak problem. Vents are black. The employees are pleasant and helpful, but I don't know how they can function in such an environment - a fryer is out (again), the soda machine is broken, the roof/ceiling is leaking, ceiling tiles are disintegrating, and employees are sliding on the treacherous floor (as much, if not more) than the customers. The floors are dangerous! This is a chronic problem that gets even worse when it has rained. Cleaning products are making the damp floors even more slick. I hope you can zoom in to see the film and dampness on the floors. There are water marks throughout the public area ceilings. I was in there 20 minutes today and 3 people commented on the slick floor and "be careful". Placing "caution wet floors" will not excuse the owners from addressing the problem. View photos of just a few of the ceiling vents and tiles. Note the black "stuff" probably caused by the excessive moisture in the place. What must be above the tiles??? The blue wall photo shows where water has gone down the wall behind the wallpaper. Chairs are sticky. Booths are discolored and worn - some torn. I didn't bother with bathroom photos - a previous reviewer provided men's bathroom photos. The women's bathroom is no better.
