I went to the Popeye's in Winder, Ga. today around 1PM. I went thru the drive thru. First the guy taking my order was very rude. He acted like he wished we weren't there. I got to the window and another young man was waiting to take my money. He handed the drink out the window and it was wrong so I asked that my order be repeated. The guy that took my order came rushing over and starts talking all over me and the young man who was attempting to repeat my order. He repeated my order, which was taken wrong, then the guy that took it came over, asked if I had specified what kind of chicken I wanted to which I specified I had not but I would have preferred dark. Then he is yelling at me "Then I'm right? Then I'm right?" Then he opens the box of chicken to show me it is dark meat. By this time I am very angry and told them I would go into the store. Once inside there is no manager, just a shift leader. She was very helpful. I explained to her what happened, she gave me a number and took my order. All the while the loud mouth from the drive thru is hovering trying to fix my order. I asked the young lady to kindly make him leave me alone, which she did not, paid for my order and left. As I was leaving I could hear his rude remarks about how you just can't please some people. I will never go there again. My family will never go there again. That was my first and only experience with them. I will drive to Athens for Popeye's chicken from now on...but it will be quite a while before I do...If I do. The only reason I gave them a star is because you can't post without at least one...
Read moreWe went through the drive-thru order chicken it was extremely skimpy I don't even know how legally they would even be allowed to sell those pieces let alone make them and charge me for them the pieces of chicken we're so small it look like the animals have been starved to death before they were even slaughtered,I know that sounds very Frank but I used to be in the food industry I have worked in the food industry since I was 16 years old I'm been long in it for a long many year I was very surprised that Popeyes a national chicken chain would be serving that to the customers me and my husband were too tired and did not care had spent almost thirty bucks for some very skimpy off of pieces of chicken some of it was good most of it was so skimpy it's like that poor animals like I said have been starved to death before they were slaughtered and served to us I have never seen that before from Popeye's I've been down in Georgia since August 8th of 1998 very surprised I heard nothing but good things been eating it for years this recent visit was awful and the person that took care of us indrive through ,the female was very short rude and mean and angry I told my husband it's okay maybe she's just having a bad night but I tell you what, I never got to have a bad night when I was working in the food industry you don't have that nights the customers rely on that good experience but the chicken added on top of how awful it was...
Read moreWe've been here quite a few times and the food and service were great. We went yesterday for dinner, around 6p, and they were not doing well. There were two customers in front of us, and one behind us...the ones in front of us looked agitated, they'd apparently been standing there, waiting, for quite some time. The employees were scrambling to take drive-thru orders (there were at least 6 cars sitting at the drive-thru), one employee even asked a customer to lock the door so no new customers could enter! After standing and watching that unfold for about 5mins, my husband and I agreed that we should go elsewhere...so we left. One of the employees, during the time that we were still standing there, made a comment about being short-handed (understaffed), which may be true, but after watching how uncoordinated the staff was, along with how painfully slow they were in carrying out their tasks, it's not surprising that they could get so backed up without really having very many customers or orders 'on the screen'. Maybe we'll try them again soon, and hopefully then it will be as good as we've had...
