Viva Chicken — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

Love the food here. Today’s experience while waiting for my to go order was less than desirable. 1) i wasn’t asked if i wanted any sauce 2) while waiting an employee noticed my name was spelled differently and said who spells their name like this and said it out loud then said something to one of the cooks in the back at which time several started to laugh. Again the spelling was mentioned and she shows them on the screen they laugh. One girl says it’s spelled Mich at which time i said i don’t spell my name like normal it’s spelled me…. Now i didn’t know how the girl at the register spelled it but she didn’t ask my name and i had to ask if she wanted my number for rewards. I think it was very disrespectful for your employees to laugh when there are patrons in the restaurant & im standing right there. She’s lucky i didn’t go off on her. She she be aware that not everyone spells their name the way they think it should be spelled. I’m disappointed and not sure if I’ll come back. They should be taught manners and furthermore stay off their phones while they are in the...

I saw this mentioned on line somewhere but did not know it was there but driven down Burke Mill hundreds of times. Went to check the menu on the website--cant see the menu unless you tell them when your coming and eat in or out. A feeling of not being strait with customers started creeping in. Later when going by I stopped to look at the menu and it seemed intriguing. The atmosphere is simple strait hard mod. Clean but not relaxing. With matching music. I went back today for supper. The first thing that pops up is the way the 1/4 chicken is described. a price for 1/4 chicken with a separate price for white meat. On inquiry you cant get say a wing and a thigh. So why not be honest say white or breast quarter one price and leg thigh quarter the other price. Weird! Ordered a breast quarter, cilantro rice and the plantains. The Plantain was great. Tonight was my second visit to the Winston Salem location. The first time I went, they had an extremely busy night and were out of the delicious chicken which I have been told is the reason that people eat here, but I substituted with the pulled chicken. The manager, Brandon, gave me a gift card that night to come back and try the other chicken. Tonight was the second night that I have ordered, and I called back to add a dessert with my gift card that I was given the first time. When I came to pick up my order, the manager gave me the desert on the house since it was only my second time and I didn’t get The full experience the first time. I also work in the restaurant business, and excellent food and excellent customer service go a very long way.
