Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Winter Haven

The food is great when it's made correctly. I've been here numerous times with my wife. We've had some good food. Everything is usually fresh. Lately, though, the speed and accuracy of food and service are rough! Seems to be lacking leadership and training. On my last visit, they added a sauce to my Baja Chicken wrap that wasn't supposed to be on it. I have food allergies, nothing life threatening, as far as I know, but I order based on what I can have. I ordered a chicken wrap with a roasted tomato salsa that I ordered not to be on it, and somehow, they added a Thai peanut sauce for no reason. As I was eating the wrap that I've had numerous times, mainly because it's safe for me, I noticed sauce dripping out, and it had an Asian flavor like soy or sesame. I love those flavors, but the sauce they use is a peanut sauce. After 2 bites, I stopped eating and went back inside and asked them about the sauce. Apparently, there was a new person working who accidentally added the sauce. I'm alive and I'm not concerned for me, but I know many people with serious allergies and why would I ever think a different sauce would find it's way to my wrap that shouldn't have had any sauce at all. Honestly, I thought the sauce was just the juice from the chicken or maybe black beans. Never did I imagine the peanut sauce on my wrap!! I know this job is just a stepping stone to a real job one day, but somebody could've died from a simple mistake. Accidents happen and that's why I carry an Epipen, but the lack of concern from the staff after I brought them my wrap and explained what happened was shocking and it's been almost a week and the owner hasn't contacted me. That shows me what I can expect from this particular location! And also why my wife and I will most likely not go here again. It wasn't just this visit. It's been heading in this direction because of the last few visits with us having to get our food remade numerous times because the staff did not follow the order. I still love their vibe, and maybe we'll still stop by for a smoothie once...

Horrible Customer service. Tried using their delivery service via door dash. I placed my order through the TS app and waited 2 hrs for my deliver that never showed. Then tried calling this store multiple time, which no one answered the phone. I then spoke with Door Dash and they informed me I had to speak with Tropical Smoothie since I ordered through them. I then got in my vehicle and drove for the store, where there was no one in the store and the associates were busy doing something else and took them awhile to even acknowledge I was there. I explained my situation to the person behind the counter and she basically blew me off and said we do not deliver. I pointed tot the sign that says you do deliver. This dialogue continued for 5 mins on repeat. I finally said I just want a refund since you are doing. I thing to help me rectify the situation. She then rolled her eyes and said that she can’t help me and I would need to speak with the manager. I asked to speak with him and she said well he isn’t here but I’ll take your info and he will call you. I waited almost all day the next day to hear from him and nothing. I’ve tried multiple times today to call the store and still no one is answering....

The tropical smoothie Café is not a restaurant that it would advise you and your family to attend. The service was abysmal. The staff is a serious lack for the culinary arts. When I was dining there there was a gang of unattended Children that entered and laughed at each other. They commandeered an entire table and began messing around this made the atmosphere abysmal. One of my friends got the Caribbean jerk chicken. The Caribbean jerk chicken was perfect and always except for the jerk sauce. This sauce was incredibly overpowered with spice. It added to a terrible contrast of flavors. The smoothies were rather moderate, but I’ve expected better and had better at other establishments. According to other reviews, the staff quality here has been declining. I have noticed this when they completely misspelled multiple names of the people in my group!!!!
