I find it so cliché when people start out their sentences with “to be honest” that’s why I wrote this sentence to preface my now second sentence. To be completely honest this is a rather difficult review for me to do since Keke’s has become a very heated topic in these present times. Some have said that keke’s is for old people and that their coffee is watered down; others have said that first watch is a much better breakfast place and that their coffee is much stronger. But as consumers I think we are entitled to our own opinions and I can only share with you my opinion. For me, every restaurant I go to that claims to have good coffee I order a single black coffee. Black coffee in its simplest form seems easy enough to make but that in and of itself is the most deceiving part. The amount of times I have had just a simple cup of black coffee that was more a kin to drinking a cup of boiled down asparagus butts that may have sat on a shelf next to a potato with the essence of coffee are getting far too high and for the average person they would never know this if they are given to drowning their coffee tea in loads of creamer to mask the actual taste of coffee. If a restaurant or coffee shop is not able to make a “simple cup of coffee” and make it well then how can I trust them to make me something that requires more skill. My experience at keke’s has varied at times no consistent cups of good coffee but none such that I wish never to soil my lips with their putrid taste. I give keke’s a 3 out of 5 on the coffee scale and call...

Ordered the kids pancake meal, before I ordered I specifically asked how many pancakes it came with, the server told me 2 or 3 small ones. They brought out 1 very tiny, almost silver dollar size pancake. We had a hard time getting our servers attention after that, several times we had to get other waiters attention to get napkins, silverware, straws (the basics). I let the skimpy pancake thing go because we’d also ordered strawberries - but he didn’t want those so we asked to exchange for blueberries - considering they misled us with the kids “stack” that was just 1. That’s where it got out of hand. The manager came over, very rudely tried telling me the definition of “stack” is 1 at their restaurant. Stack means 1 in what world? Nonetheless, the server didn’t know this new definition either and therefore us as the customer was misinformed. Instead of the manager kindly assisting, she proceeded to tell us that the price of blueberries is higher and that they would charge us for it all. My food had came out cold and nasty, so at that point I was done talking. The manager, yells to the kitchen to get us some blueberries, very unprofessional, full on attitude, condescending. And this to a mother with a hungry toddler who is ONLY that way because of THEIR mistake with the pancake. Altogether...
Read moreFirst I must admit that as a 56 year old man, I have eaten at many, many breakfast restaurants. So I have allot of experience to draw from. Keke's is a good place, but only good. Here is my opinion, the pancakes are so sense that I sent mine back today. It's possible that they were under cooked, but I also believe that the battery recipe need some tweaking. They should be able to ride, at least some what. I'm just saying. PS my daughter likes them. Next the home fries. First they are thick slices, like a thick potatoe chip. This doesn't seem right to me. Maybe the meat slicer should be used for, um meat... So what you get are a wimpy pile of soggy chips. Not good for me, sorry. Last, the omelets. Please purchase a few 9" frying pans. Use 3 eggs. Place the filling on your grill to warm first, then add a small amount of the filling to the scrambled eggs, a pinch only. Place the eggs into the pan on medium heat, allow to cook slightly, then add your filling, this will assure that the egg can hold the filling. Allow to cook further, then fold in half. If cheese is an ingredient, artfully add a small slice, or two to the top. Now at Keke's I believe you get eggs poured on the grill, cooked very thin. Then they add the filling and roll it up like a cigar, or burrito.
Anyway, the service is great, it's wildly popular, but...
Room for improvement....
