My husband and I came to the Wisconsin Dells for the very first time and today on Wednesday we went to have dinner here and then we were going to get some ice cream at huckleberry ice cream and bakery next door. However, on the last day of our vacation, when we planned to do these things, when we arrived, we found a note on the door saying they were closing at 4 o'clock for a staff party. Very unfortunate because they did not bother to tell people that as we stopped in two days ago to take a look and we're here again yesterday, and there were no notes on the door at any point in time in the last couple of days to indicate they would be closing early in the middle of the week on Wednesday, still during their season. Such a shame that they couldn't have their party either on a Monday night or perhaps wait until your season is over before you decide to close down and deprive customers of coming to your establishment. There's a second location of the macaroni shop, but they too closed down today for a staff party. Do not recommend that you go here unless you call first because this is what you...
Read moreWe have been eating at Macs every time we are vacationing in the Dells for years. It is a family favorite. Their macaroni and cheese options are just so delicious! I will say that if you are a vegan, you will be disappointed. I am a vegan. Last year, I got the salad for my meal, and boy was that depressing. Not that it is a bad salad - it's not. It's just that watching your family devour their creamy, cheesy goodness while you are eating spring greens is rather sad. I can't fault MACs for not having a vegan mac - they are by definition a macaroni and cheese shop. However, I will say that if they chose to carry Daiya's cheddar cheese sauce that could be mixed up wtih noodles and baked with veggie toppings or with salsa and crushed tortilla chips, well, I'd be in heaven. I would just love eating some creamy mac alongside my family. For now though, I get a soda and just chill while my family eats, and then we have to stop somewhere else to get me some takeout. Macs was always my fave years ago before I was vegan, and it will prob always be my...
Read moreAs a macaroni lover, we had to try MACS. The menu options were awesome and we had a hard time deciding what to get but settled on a regular size Mama’s and Cheeseburger mac. The two regular sizes was a little smaller than we were expecting for two people and probably should’ve gotten a third or even their largest macaroni size. Flavor wise, I liked the mamas the best. The hotdogs were thin sliced and had sort of a crispy texture. The saltiness of them was super good against the base Mac which was pretty mild in flavor. More gooey and light cheese flavor than a sharp cheddar flavor. The cheeseburger was pretty good. It came with a large unseasoned patty on top which was kind of hard to cut and I don’t think added much. I liked the dressing and pickles that came with it the most. The inside was pretty empty. Definitely fast casual feel. You order at a counter. They bring your order to your table and check in a couple times. Overall, good experience and would like to try...
