Panera Bread — Restaurant in Woburn

I had the worst dining experience last night, which was especially disappointing since I had dined there just two days earlier and had such a great time that I decided to return with my family.

This time, the female cashier refused to honor my reward treat that I was entitled to. I’m not sure if she didn’t know how to redeem it or simply chose not to, but she claimed I wasn’t eligible — which was untrue.

Shortly after, I asked a server for an extra bowl. He told me that I needed to pay for it, which confused me since I wasn’t asking for any food — just a bowl. When I tried to clarify, he said I “didn’t make myself clear enough.” It felt dismissive, and the interaction was uncomfortable. The language barrier might have played a part, but the lack of effort to understand me made things worse.

From the moment I arrived, I felt as though I didn’t belong. I could sense tension from both the server and the female cashier, and it made the entire visit unpleasant. After spending quite a bit on both visits, I left feeling extremely disappointed. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location. Also, I asked for the table to be cleaned and they were looking at me like I was strange yet another couple came in and didn’t even have to ask. They just went right over to the other table and cleaned it for them....

Nice atmosphere, cozy gas fireplace, comfortable, clean and spacious. Service was very friendly and fast. It was the first day of the new menu; everything sounded really good. Had one of their hot chicken/bacon/etc sandwiches on ciabatta I think. For $13, I thought a whole sandwich would be good for 2 meals, but the filling is kind of skimpy, and the chicken and bacon are chopped up into small pieces in a gooey sauce. It was good but really mostly bread. I didn't realize the papaya green tea is already sweetened, excessively so, so you can really taste only the sweetness with a bit of fruit. I got a beautiful chocolate croissant to go. Later that same day the croissant was crispy to the core, not crisp flakes with tender pastry, so I wonder if it was overbaked or maybe day old. Overall for nearly $20 for lunch I was not impressed with the food. It would be a great place to hang out and do work while...
