I don’t usually review a McDonald’s favorably, but, even though it’s my first visit to this location, I’ll have to say I’m rather impressed. Mainly the cleanliness and functionalness of it all.
What I mean by functionalness, even though that isn’t a word, is referring to the drink station area. Fully stocked, clean, and even the ketchup worked!
When we first walked in, I was greeted by probably one of the cleanest and freshest looking McDs I’ve ever been into. The playground especially. I always view McDs playgrounds with hesitation, but this one actually makes me feel really comfortable with my kids playing in. I’m not docking any stars for the playground, but as a personal preference, I like tables to be in front of the playground. But that’s just the layout here - they had to work with what they had. And it’s a giant playground - my kids love the space.
Next, and this is always a pet peeve of mine with McDonalds, but the cashier knew what she was doing this time. No hesitation. However, she did rush and didn’t repeat back the order, and I missed that she didn’t put me in for the right sandwich. Usually the cashiers I interact with at any McDonald’s either had zero training and takes a long time to punch in the order, or has had barely any training and no one around to help if they get confused. Though she was nice, and confident, because she rushed and didn’t repeat the order, and then later when I had a manager fix it, they didn’t say a word to me of apologies, or verifying what was said needed correcting, which was weird as she was really nice earlier when she asked me what I was waiting on, when I was waiting for my initial food to come up, I dock a star. I know it can be hard to keep a smile on ones face all day in customer service roles, believe me, I did it for many years, but every new customer is a new face and new interaction. And if something gets messed up, don’t throw up a stone face and avoid all eye contact. I had no energy radiating that I was livid or upset that my order was wrong. I even offered to pay the difference if I needed to, but I was given silence.
Other than that little hiccup, everything else was rather nice. I’ll make a point to make this my new McDs versus the one closer to me. That one down the street at Trickum and 92 is absurdly dirty, and the managers yell quite often, and the one cashier I tend to interact with is very slow and I wouldn’t have her behind the counter, personally.
And, McDonald’s, what’s your obsession with having only one cashier, if that, at any given time? The line backs up as the only cashier tends to be...
Read moreAVOID THIS WOODSTOCK MCDONALD'S AT ALL COSTS - Truly Rock Bottom If there were an award for the single worst fast-food experience in the entire Atlanta metro area, this Woodstock McDonald's would win hands down, no contest. Calling it slow is an insult to sloths. Prepare to enter a time warp where a "fast food" breakfast takes a solid 30 minutes – yes, HALF AN HOUR for the simplest order. The inefficiency is staggering. But the agonizing wait time is only the beginning of the nightmare. The place is consistently dirty. Forget clean tables or swept floors; it feels grimy, neglected, and frankly, disgusting. You'll likely want to sanitize your hands after leaving, assuming you didn't just walk out mid-wait. And the staff? Unfriendly is putting it mildly. Expect sullen faces, zero urgency, and an attitude that makes you feel like you're inconveniencing them by daring to order food. Don't expect a smile, a 'thank you,' or any semblance of customer service. The absolute final straw, demonstrating a shocking lack of basic hygiene and common sense, was witnessing a staff member behind the counter casually pet a customer's dog that had been walked into the restaurant. Adorable? Maybe. But then she went RIGHT BACK TO WORK near food preparation areas WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. It's utterly appalling and a blatant disregard for food safety. This location is a trifecta of terrible: excruciatingly slow service, a filthy environment, and unfriendly staff with questionable hygiene practices. Save your time, your money, and potentially your health. Go anywhere else. This isn't just a bad McDonald's; it's a masterclass in how not to run a restaurant. Zero stars. Avoid,...
Read moreHalf way through taking my order, cashier started messaging someone on Facebook. I waited for him to finish, and told him the rest of my order. Seems he was too busy planning tonight's escapade or whatever to listen to the order. Kid's drinks were wrong. Had to go back and swap those out. He completely missed a Mcflurry, which I had to go back and get. Drink station smelled rank... The sweet smell of old sugar syrup and drinks that have now become a breeding ground for bacteria. Made me completely rethink my want of sweet tea. Changed to Coke because it seemed less of a risk. Shame that was part of my drink decision making process. AC was not on enough to deal with Georgia summer heat. Hot and uncomfortable to eat in such a stuffy environment. Garbage can in the play area smelled like old, hot county Fair garbage that had been sitting in the sun. Some dude came out to deal with it, which gave me some relief, but then I saw that all he did was use some stick to stuff it down more, and left it there. Still rank. Couldn't wait to leave, and we won't be back. Completely regret not going to Chick-fil-A across the street. Health score of 77/C. Probably needs a revision downward. Best thing about this location is that the exits lead...
