My original comment: “The restaurant itself is not clean even in Vietnamese standard, the table looks old. The food was tasteless beyond beliefs. A kitchen nightmare version, hope Gordon Ramsay will come to fix it.”
Now, my reply to the owner’s comments: the owner tries to attack me back by saying that I am a “hater”. Well, sound to me like “Amy Baking Company” in Kitchen Nightmares who call every negative comments hater and “online bully”. And I would like to correct you, it is “Kitchen Nightmares”, not “Masterchef”.
You charge at least double price as those places with “plastic table”. Therefore, I expect the place to be cleaner, especially when the restaurant is located near Hoan Kiem Lake. Look at your stair, and those dirty buckets in the second-floor rest room. The table are definitely old. And if you dont call it “rest room”, what do you call it? “dirty sinks and buckets” ?
the food was bad. As the owner, you dont ask me which dishes I tried and why I did not like them? You just become defensive and call everyone “haters” with “bad English”? Why dont you at least try to improve the food with customers’ feedbacks?
Yes, the fact is the food is terrible. If tourists want to try good Vietnamese food, please go to some places that sells only one traditional dish. If you like bun cha, try to find a place specialised in “bun cha”. If you like “pho”, find a specialised place for “pho”. This restaurant has a large collection of food. But they are bad. I tried banh xeo, it was greasy, the rice paper looks dirty, no herb as it should have. The prawn roll is full of badly tasted vermicellin noodles, the dipping sauce is bland. The Broken Rice dish with pork has no “sweet & sour” dressing as it should have, the pork did not taste fresh.
I also see the owner has a habbit of attacking back one- or two-starred reviewers. Try to work on your food, you will get more positive comments. Bullying online comments just make you look even worse.
*Pointless? I just add more content and never change any facts because the owner keeps attacking me personally. Guys, you see, the owner never defends their food. They know their food is overcharged and tasteless. The only thing they do is to keep saying “the review is pointless”. The owner, why dont you start improving your...
Read moreWorst restaurant in Vietnam. Do not try this place unless you want to get scammed. Firstly this was extremely overpriced. This is more than double the other places we went to but we still decided to visit because of the positive google reviews— thinking the quality made up for the expensive price tag. When the food first arrived we were so shocked at how small the portions were. The price, images, descriptions of the menu made it seem like a main meal however the items were not only entree sized but missing half the items. A picture speaks a thousand words and the broken rice was shocking. The menu (as per photos) claims the spring rolls and rice paper noodles includes lettuce, but we received none. The menu also claims the broken rice includes fish sauce and salad, but all we received was rice and egg and a sad looking pork and two sad looking strips of carrot. When confronting the employee he mentioned that “customers do not like fish sauce and salad so they don’t have it anymore” . The employee even agreed their boss did not updating the menu with the accurate information of the dishes. This is such a weak excuse, and the food didn’t even taste good (even the Vietnamese food in melbourne tastes better). With the deceptive menu, small portion size, extremely expensive, not tasty food, I would NOT recommend...
Read moreHighly not recommended for vegetarians and vegans. Yes, they do have whole three or four pages of veggie dishes to choose from in their menu. Both, me and my partner chose fully vegetarian marked meals from the menu, but I wanted to make sure we understand each other so I showed them translated list of things I don’t want in my meal, such as meat, meat stock, fish and ouster sauce. They said of course, no problem. Unfortunately we both got food which contained beef stock. We weren’t sure and asked again after tasting, and staff reassured us there is nothing - even though taste was clearly not plant based. We trusted and tried to eat more, until we found pieces of beef in it. I haven’t been eating meat for over 10 years and this has never happened before, that staff would so obviously lie about the ingredients just to make a profit. At the end they didn’t charge me for food, what unfortunately only confirms the sad reality of having vegetarian food on the menu, but delivering parody of it. Please, be honest with your customers. This is not fair. It was not accidental, as both of different dishes we ordered contained same beef stock, which they use as a base for all sauces and soups. Not...
