The food was delightful, the pizza had a pleasant and rich flavor, with a beautifully puffed crust. However, the inside was slightly soggy and undercooked. My husband and I run a pizza restaurant in the U.S., so I couldn’t help but notice these details. Nonetheless, the staff and management kindly offered us a discount because of this, even though it wasn’t their fault (the chef just needed to leave it in the oven for 20 more seconds to achieve a perfect pizza), and we truly appreciated their kindness.
But what truly warmed my heart, beyond the food, was the service. The restaurant was bustling during the holidays, and we understood if there were no available seats. When we arrived, there was only a young girl with blue hair managing everything. She was darting from table to table, clearly exhausted, but still giving her best effort. She even cleared a table just for us and ensured we had the coziest spot.
Her warmth and professionalism were remarkable. She spoke English so well that I was surprised to learn she had only started learning it after joining the restaurant. Her effort to connect with us was heartwarming: she patiently inquired about our dining preferences, carefully explained the ingredients, and even suggested a half-and-half pizza so we could enjoy various flavors without being overwhelmed by the portions. Every moment with her felt sincere, as if she genuinely cared about making our evening special.
I wish I had asked for her name, but she was so busy that I didn’t want to trouble her further. She left a very warm impression on both me and my husband. We didn’t bring enough cash to tip her that night since it was our last night in Vietnam, and honestly, I still feel guilty about it; she deserved more. She truly made our evening unforgettable.
If I could, I would give this service 10 stars just because of her. Please, give this wonderful girl a raise, she truly deserves it! She turned an ordinary night into one we will...
Read moreFirstly this review was not influenced or requested by Pizza Belga like so many places have requested me to do so far, My partner and I just had dinner here because I was craving some western food after 10 days of the amazing local foods. Pizza Belga did not disappoint but exceeded our expectations, we had the goats cheese salad which was surprisingly amazing and one of the best salads we've had to date! The pizzas are traditional wood fired, the dough is cooked perfectly as far as I'm concerned and has the right amount of char. We had the garlic bread with pestos (which is a meal in itself), a standard margarita and 1/2 hot honey & half Rafaello with buratta. All round sensational and flavourful, probably didn't need to add the buratta as they would've been stronger with out it but that was my choice, Also didn't need an additional pizza or garlic bread but my eyes are bigger than my stomach. Had the cheesecake for desert which again was well balanced and we'll flavoured. I had a few glasses of the red wine on menu which paired very well with the food we had, my partner had the Banrock Moscato which was a welcome surprise for her as we're from Australia and it's one of the few wines she knowingly enjoys. All round service was pleasant and attentive, we were on the second floor which cut out all outside noise very well. All in all incredibly impressed by everything a restaurant has to offer. Will definitely be back before we leave Hanoi in...
Read moreGood pizza and I appreciated the little dish of olives I was given upon ordering.
Service was very inattentive. Don't know why I was seated and then ignored until I had to shout across the restaurant to get someone to come and take my order.
Also don't know why I was warned against adding anchovies to my pizza: "Are you sure? It will be salty." Yeah, I know. That's why I'm asking for them. Why even have it as an option if you are going to discourage it when people ask for it?
I was eating alone, so when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands after eating, I came back to a cleared table, including the glass of wine I had only half drunk. Fortunately they hadn't poured it out yet and I got it back (would have refused to pay for it if I didn't) but this kind of ruined the experience for me even though the food was good. Paying attention and a simple act of communication would have avoided it: "Have you finished?" It's not like I had paid the bill by that point so why assume?
Overall, good pizza, clean place with a nice atmosphere, but basic training is lacking for staff. On the plus side they were polite and apologetic but it's frustrating when the thing they had to apologise for was so easy to avoid in the...
