⚠️ CAUTION-NOT GLUTEN FREE⚠️ Beware celiacs and people with gluten allergies! The dishes that are supposed to be gluten free, are not gluten free!

I am celiac and I arrived at the restaurant and showed them a gluten free translation card that explained what gluten is and what foods are unsafe to eat. The head server took a one second glance at the card and put it down and didn’t care about it. She pointed out many items on the menu that she said are gluten free. When I began to ask about the ingredients in the items she pointed out to me, I discovered many of them contain gluten.

She stated that the fried spring rolls and banh xeo (fried rice pancake) were 100% gluten free. I asked her if they contain knorr (a wheat containing seasoning), and she said that they do contain it. She then recommended I eat the fresh spring rolls. I asked if they contain crispy fried onion that has wheat flour, and she said they do contain it. I was appalled that three of the dishes the assured me were gluten free, were not actually gluten free after further investigation.

I ended up ordering the fresh spring rolls (like a salad roll) and asked them to be made with no crispy onion, which the head server assured me they could do. When she delivered the food, she confirmed that they made them without crispy onion. After I took a few bites, I found many pieces of crispy onion in it. I then showed her multiple pieces of crispy onion and she denied that they were onion and she tried to tell me they were carrot. I had my friends taste the pieces and they all confirmed there was absolutely no doubt the pieces are onion. She still did not believe all of us and nobody from the restaurant took responsibility for what happened.

My experience at this restaurant was aweful. Please do not eat here if you have an allergy...

Hmmm how do I say this. It’s as if I ate at a Vietnamese restaurant.. in another country.

Food isn’t bad, it’s actually okay, but I’ve had better versions. I know that taste is subjective, so if other people enjoyed the food here, I respect that. But since I am to write an honest review, from my perspective, here are my observations:

-big slices of carrots in the chicken pho. The herb used in the pho was parsley. -chillies in pho (not optional, it’s already in there) so I couldn’t even taste the actual taste of the broth. -the banh xeo wasn’t very crispy, it was soggy. -there are no herbs, oh wait -there was literally one piece of (beyond)wilted mint with the lettuce -they used store-brought sweet chili sauce, or atleast it’s how it looked like: sticky orange sauce.. and soysauce or something that looks like it… for the pho(?)

-overall, to me it looked sad. I didn’t have the energy to take a photo. Staff are really nice. I hope they are...

This restaurant had delicious, fresh food and kind staff! My stomach wasn't feel great so I came here to get something simple, since it had high reviews and thus I figured would be fresh. I ordered steamed vegetables and rice, and even though it was a simple dish, they did a fantastic job! The veggies were steamed perfectly and the rice was so fluffy with nice sauces on the side. It was exactly what I needed to settle my stomach and still feel full. Afterward the staff even brought me free cold tea and some candies, which was the cherry on top to helping me feel better. In addition, I was eating solo and didn't feel out of place. I would absolutely come here again and try more...

Gluten free fam, I hate to leave a review like this, but if you eat here please be VERY vigilant. There have been some dicey reviews in the past about the use of Knorr here. When I sat down I asked the waiter about the pho and he said, without being prompted, that they don’t use soy sauce or knorr. I ended up ordering the chicken pho and it came out with crispy onions on top which are very clearly not gluten free. The waiter apologized and had them remake the dish for me, but it left me with serious questions about this restaurant’s understanding of gluten free. If you come here, I highly encourage you to inspect your meal very closely before beginning to eat.

Wow! I would rank this in the top 3 meals I have had in 2024 so far. The food here is exceptional - I had the ginger chicken in clay pot which is served in this beautiful broth with chunky carrots and a side of rice - the flavours of this dish coupled to melt-in-your mouth chicken was exquisite - I also had the fried rice pancakes which were super fresh and crispy and thei greens to roll them with were crisp and tasty. I also ordered the fried bok choy with garlic which was a cut above what you normally get - this dish had carrots and peppers in it with a healthy amount of garlic. I can't wait to return and try other items on their menu. Just delicious!!

Found this place by chance, and thought my family and I would give it a try. The place is cosy and quaint. It's off the main street via an alley. Prices are reasonable. They have combos that you can choose from or ala carte if you prefer. Service is good, and they do speak English and have a menu in English. I recommend the Coconut coffee, lemongrass chicken, and the chicken with ginger. The Banh Xeo was ok. Had better (in Hanoi). The claypot pork was overcooked and that was a little let down. If good this place a 4.5 stars or a very, very good Google 4 stars. Despite me rating their food a 4 star, I would recommend this place.
