I stayed here for 3 nights and found my stay to be okay.
Upon coming by reception two days prior I asked if they had availability in a female dorm, which they had. We set up all the required details and she assigned me a bottom bed for when I checked in.
Yet upon actually checking in on the day of arrival they "gave away" the assigned bunk bed the lady put in the system. While talking to their British rep she told me that If I ever needed to relax and the room was too hot, since they shut down airconditioning from 11:00/17:00, I can go to reception and they would turn it on for me. This upon asking reception while checking in, was not possible and they have never done that.
Besides that the hostel does not accept Debit cards. They also do not use an EFTPOS machine, so to stay here you need a credit card. This might be an issue for some Europeans since we have everything in Debit. To add to this, they also don't accept cash, so a credit card is your only option.
I got many apologies upon checking in, yet nothing was actually done about anything nor did anyone think ahead of what other possibilities there are to uplift the situation.
I came back down to ask for a towel, and got one with stains and dead ants on it. Reception actually noticed that the moment they gave that to me and quickly changed that to another.
My room was on the first floor and the crowded area was right below us. If the balcony door was slightly open you were "one" with the party and if the bedroom door was opened you had the same issue.
My stay at this hostel started a tiny bit bitter and after meeting the girls in my dorm, it didn't get better? The girls in my dorm all had the same option about the hostel and the vibe that it has, and that we shouldn't have booked it. (Which actually surprised me, yet I understood)
Some improvements that can be made in my opinion or things I noticed: -Airconditioning not on during day 11:00/17:00; -No towel including upon checking in; -No EFTPOS machine available; -No debit cards possible to use; -No cash payments available either, it's all credit card; -The cleaning ladies come in before check out time and are extremely loud, some girls were still sleeping when that happened and were not amused; -No lights by the bed; -They wipe down the bathroom everyday, yet that is not good enough to get rid of the black mold that the shower has; -No soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower; -A window in the shower (next to a bunkbed on the other side)that gets covered by a roller window shade; -The vibe of this hostel is 18/22 y/o party and alcohol.
Then to every situation there are also always some positives, here are some things I liked about the hostel: -The bedroom came with an ensuite bathroom; -Real good shower pressure and two types of shower heads available; -The lockers they have in the room are quite big and spacious; -There are electrical sockets per bed available; -Every bed has curtains that cover a good range of the bed space and give some privacy; -They have a bar on-scene; -I heard a lot about the tour they have available and that people enjoyed themselves a lot; -Good location, right next to the old town; -Indoor pool; -Shuttlebus option to the beach every day;
For me this hostel wasn't the vibe and will not stay here again. Yet if you are a teenager or in your early 20's, this might be the exact place you'd like to be. Every night it gets roudy, plenty of people drink and seek for a party.
If you are looking for a more adult/social hostel, I recommend skipping this place and going somewhere else.
On average it wasn't a bad stay, but not somewhere...

I Cannot understand how you could book such a terrible company for us, especially after charging this price and telling us it was a VIP service.
Not only was the bus late, but the company also made multiple delivery stops along the way, which made the trip much longer than expected. The smell inside the bus was unbearable, the drivers offered no help, kept opening the curtains of our sleeping berths without any respect, and worst of all — they smoked several times inside the bus.
We were asked to be there at 5:00 PM, but there was no dinner stop at all, and the only stop in the morning was at a place where there was nothing to buy or eat. We arrived at noon having had nothing to eat since 5 PM the previous day — do you find this acceptable?
And of course, when we asked the drivers which station we should go to for our next bus, they refused to stop even though they were driving right past it. No one on the bus could give us any clear information about Cambodia, and as a result, we had to delay our departure by an entire day.
This experience was absolutely unacceptable. I am truly shocked and disappointed, and I can assure you that I will not recommend your services to anyone."
Honestly if we took everything together between the prices the services and the room Who are ok but don’t really worse the price i really don’t recommand. But i have the said that the worker there...
Read moreThe beds were decent, but the absence of proper blankets was baffling. Instead, a small shawl was provided, insufficient for warmth and coverage, especially for those taller than 5 feet.
The Wi-Fi quality was notably poor, falling below the standard experienced elsewhere in Vietnam
-While the cafe offered good food, it came at a high cost. The free beer provided was of questionable quality.
The pinnacle of my dissatisfaction, however, was the travel package to Nha Trang. For a whopping $71, I expected a comfortable journey. Instead, the overnight sleeper bus was a nightmare. I found myself stuck in the last seat, surrounded by four others, with absolutely no room to move. Despite canceling the Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh leg two days in advance, the hostel refused a refund, leaving me seething with frustration. Even a suggestion for a cab to the airport was shot down without a second thought.
To add insult to injury, the lack of communication about the pickup arrangements at the Nha Trang hostel further highlighted the hostel's disregard for the convenience and satisfaction of its guests. My experience at Hoi An Hostel was nothing short of a travel disaster, and I strongly advise anyone considering a stay here to think twice and weigh the potential discomfort against the convenience promised by the establishment.
Advice for Future Guests: If seeking tranquility, reconsider this hostel due to its party vibe. Be cautious about bundled travel packages and consider alternative transportation options for better comfort. Confirm pickup details in advance to avoid any surprises...
