What a wonderful hidden gem this sushi bar is . A little tricky to find . It’s at the end of all the bars in the old town . You head towards the Bamboo Circus venue. Pass all the food vendors at the very end then pass the cooking classes and it’s at the very end of the st. The flavour , presentation and value for money is really appreciated here. The owner is very passionate about what he presents and even dresses in Japanese apparel. He even has Japanese beer at a very reasonable price cost and very cold followed by free dessert. Came here on my own, noone else was in the venue which suited me just fine. Ordered the smoked tuna and smoked salmon sushi. The owner made this behind the counter while i sat and waited, very fresh and flavoursome, decent portion sizes too. The worker didnt speak a lot of english but is friendly. Had the red wine also, which i was sceptical about given only 60k per glass, not amazing, but for $4aud, wasnt a bad price, so had to have a second. Recommend.

Only note: Wouldnt have minded some quiet background music...

I absolutely understand why this place has a perfect 5-star score. You don't see it when you get there, but despite the small cooking space, this little mom and pop stand makes really good food. Also, being on the island but at the edge of the hustle and bustle allows you to sit down and really enjoy your dinner.

The service was amazing as well, with the cute owners serving us with a huge smile and rushing to make sure we were fully satisfied.
