Red Sun Restaurant — Restaurant in Hội An

I am sad to say one of the worst meals we had in Vietnam. The cha gio (fried spring rolls) were very thin & tiny, contained just shrimp, barely fried (they were still white) & came with just lettuce & rice paper - no herbs (we asked & they said they ran out in the morning) & no other vegetables like cucumber as pictured. I would have been disappointed by the bad quality of these spring rolls in a Panda Express, to say nothing of a sit-down restaurant in Vietnam. The egg pancake with shrimp & pork contained no pork & were made with a weird coconut-flavored batter - perhaps the dessert pancake batter. And strangely the 2 appetizers took 30 mins to arrive. I wish the server would just have been honest with us, so we could have changed our order to dishes they actually had the ingredients for, instead of giving us weird & subpar versions after half an hour. My watermelon juice was good & that was the only highlight of my meal. I am quite baffled by the other positive reviews of this restaurant. (March 4 ) WE discovered this family restaurant, and found the BEST "Chicken Fried rice" in Asia... All the dishes are well done.. But they have a very special way of making the Fried rice that's Great.. 👍 👍 👍

THE BEST!! Amazing food and amazing service!!! My partner and I came to this place for dinner our first night in Hoi An and repeated the next day!! Proper quality family restaurant with the best food we have had in Vietnam, cooked with care and love and served with a smile, very kind people we found! Everything is freshly cooked, super tasty and full of flavour. From the soup to the spring rolls to the egg fried rice to the noodles to the crispy pancakes to the shrimps...no matter what you order: food does not disappoint!
