UPDATE: The owner’s response to this review betrays a high level of unprofessionalism. To address your claims, I can assure you my friend did not take any medication the day she ate here, nor did she indicate that her stomach was unwell. Her stomach began feeling off about halfway through the pizza, at which point we left quietly, without making any comments or a scene. Although we believe that your food is gluten free, it was undeniably something in your facilities which made her ill. As for the photo your wife took, the camera was angled way above the top of the coffee machine and the waiter ducked to get out of the shot, as he was standing between us and the coffee machine…. suspicious. Regarding the toilet, why would we pretend that it was filled with diarrhea, we are not malicious merely disappointed with our experience here and your highly defensive response only magnifies this disappointment. I would not recommend this establishment.
Original comment: As my friend is celiac, we went to this place because of the high reviews and of the gluten free menu they provided. We ordered 2 pizzas and chicken nuggets, which we were assured were gluten free. After we ate the nuggets (they were really good!) the waitress came to ask us if they made us sick, and asked how our stomach was feeling. These are a weird questions to ask, but we didn’t think much of it, thinking it was probably coming from good faith. During the meal, one of the waitress hid behind the coffee machine and took (what we assume to do the angle of the phone) a photo of us? Without asking? The food was good, pretty sure the pizzas were actually gluten free! Sadly my friend did get sick from the meal (she hadn’t eaten during the day so there is no doubt it was from this meal). We are pretty sure it was because of the chicken nuggets, which would have explained the weird questions.
Anyways, weird experience all around, try at your own risk!
(also, the way to the bathroom was flooded, water up to the ankle, and the toilet was filled...

Read moreMy first experience at this Hoi An expat favourite. A nice vibe as you enter with inside and outside seating. And a small grocery section (including chilled and frozen) of western products that you might be craving for? Even a children’s play area. We sat inside by the window. Not the best view … but at least a green space. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The owner Gordon, even met with us to ensure everything was ok. The menu was quite extensive. Plenty of western favourites to choose from. In fact, it was hard to decide! But I went for the Aussie Beef Pie (what Aussie would not go with a meat pie after 3 months out of the country?) and my friend chose the Vegetable Lasagna and Caesar Salad. Wow! The pie was delicious. And great to see all the western condiments available. A beef pie with tomato sauce. Heavenly! I love Vietnamese food but it is nice to have a change every so often. The Lasagna and Caesar Salad was also very good. Everything was baked on site and the salad was freshly prepared. A good selection of beverages available as well. Coffee, beer, wine and soft drinks available so you won’t be disappointed! Overall an excellent experience. The food and service were great. I will be happy to return. Highly...
