Mango Garden Homestay — Hotel in Hội An

Based on the service and amenities provided, I will NOT RECOMMEND anyone to choose this place. My worst experience I ever had. On the check in day, the aircon not functioning as normal able turn on right away. Due to reach there at the hottest hour, thus request to turn on aircon but it took some times for the owner to turn it on. Before managed turn on the aircon request to change room instead, owner offer me downgrade to a non bathroom attached room and rejected by me. After a while the aircon able turn on but having difficulty to turn off. After that I’m rushing to memories land theme park with aircon on till late. Surprised me the aircon in off mode when I’m back, meaning they entered room WITHOUT permission after my check in. Beside that found a used towel in bathroom make me felt they didn’t do housekeeping properly or might didn’t do it at all. Due to late night and only for a night I just leave it. What comes to surprise on the next day, my finger got cut by chipped wooden bed and follow with a cockroach say hi to me from the basin. This homestay saved my whole trip!! But first to the accommodation. I stayed in the 4-bed dorm. The room is air-conditioning with an ensuite. The beds (no bunk-beds) are super comfortable and clean. And at least 120cm wide. Towel and toiletries are provided for free. Wi-fi is free, quick and worked without interruptions on the whole property. Breakfast was included. You have a choice of various egg variations with bread, a huge fruit bowl or pho. The property is a few metres off any major road. You can't hear any traffic. It has a little court with hammocks and a swing. And a little area where you can eat. With lots of beautiful plants providing shade and privacy. You can rent bicycles from the homestay and the staff can organise various tours and transport to and from Da Nang. And in my case also the transport of something very important I forgot at the homestay without which my trip would have been over. I can't thank the stuff enough. Nice place with a lovely but lazy and unempathetic host. After finding an insect nest in our room (in a hole in the wall behind a chair) at around 8pm, we asked for a new room but were denied and instead had the wall half gap-sealed by maintenance... which resulted in larger bugs coming through the skirting board. At checkout, we were not offered a discount, after insisting we received about 15% off the total price, despite explaining our poor night of sleep dealing with a room (and bed) full of flying insects. The unsatisfactory outcome could have been avoided if our host had just spent the time to make another room up for us at the fairly appropriate time that we requested it.
