I heard about this restaurant from a New York Times article about Hoi An. I am usually a if fan of chefs that use modern techniques to reinterpret dishes. However, I really didn’t find the food here to be that good. It’s definitely not bad but I don’t get why it’s so popular. The price is really reasonable though and is a good value.

Food: 3.25 stars Service/environment: 3 stars Value: 4.25 stars Overall: 3.5 stars Recommendations: pork belly bao & chicken rice

I think I would have liked this place better if I didn’t order the salads. I had the beet root and pomelo and I found both to be over dressed and a tad too salty. The small plates and the mains were better. I enjoyed the bao and the chicken rice.

I would pass on the Banh Mi. The dish eats like a pulled pork sandwich you would find at a bbq joint and doesn’t remind me at all of a Banh Mi (crunchy French bread, creamy pate and crisp picketed vegetables.

The desserts were a bit hit or miss and I was expecting more. The ice cream was a hit and is worth ordering. They offer some unique flavors such as lemongrass, chili, and Vietnamese coffee. The mocha cake I didn’t like very much and would suggest passing on. The cake is a bit dry and I didn’t find the peanut brittle a good match with the cake.

The restaurant is really hard to find and it is located by the Japanese bridge. You don’t need to pay the entrance fee to dine here. Just tell the gate workers you are eating...

Nu means woman in Vietnamese. This business represents female prowess in business, in the kitchen and in service.

This was simply the best food we had in Vietnam. Obviously this is a huge compliment.

We ate a lot of excellent food dining 3 meals a day over 11 days spanning multiple cities and towns.

We dined a late dinner here and it was so good we returned for lunch a following day to taste more.

Not just the divine food, we were so glad for the oasis, the haven in this laneway under a beautiful tree after witnessing the sad wastefulness of excess tourism outside by the river. This place renewed our faith in Hoi Ann.

The neighbouring bar across the lane has draft craft beer from leading Vietnamese Breweries 7 Bridges (Da Nang) & Heart of Darkness(Saigon). I appreciated these tasting paddles greatly. My partner loved the simply excellent 2 for 1 afternoon mango cocktails.

Staff were of the same feather with common ownership at a Matriarchal entrepreneur level, they were happy to have us order drinks from Nu Eatery.

Thankyou Nu for your innovation, your humble service and maintaining the best restaurant in the area.

Food sad very good but the entire experience was HORRIBLE. The owner of the restaurant was angry for some reason and treated us very badly. 1st, as soon as I entered the restaurant looking for the toilet, she kind of screamed at me “sorry??!”, then when we needed to order, she put us pressure and told us that her restaurant didn’t accept two orders but just one all together and what we were asking for was not enough for us so we needed to speed up and choose something else (THAT WE DIDNT BECAUSE TO MUCH PRESSURE, I EAT AND ORDER WHAT THE EVER I WANT TO). Then, while we were seating at the outside table, my boyfriend lighted up a cigarette (he hadn’t seen the no smoking signal) and instead of coming to us and gently ask to quit it, she screamed from the inside window while serving another table “IN MY RESTAURANT NO SMOKING”. We payed and left the restaurant. As I said, good food but you can find it in many other places in Vietnam so don’t go there if you don’t want to be screamed off for anything you do and you said. Worst experience in...
