Nestled on the 5th floor of the iconic Cafe Apartments building on Nguyen Hue Walking Street in District 1, Cà phê Sài Gòn Ơi is a delightful oasis amidst the bustling city. This charming cafe boasts a bright and airy setting, adorned with lush greenery and cozy furnishings, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
One of the standout features is the open-air balcony, offering a delightful view of the vibrant Nguyen Hue Walking Street below. It's the perfect spot to sip on one of their unique beverage concoctions while taking in the sights and sounds of the city.
Speaking of drinks, Cà phê Sài Gòn Ơi truly shines with its innovative offerings. I was particularly intrigued by the Durian Coffee, a bold and flavorful blend that showcases Vietnam's love for the infamous fruit. Their menu also features a variety of other creative coffee and non-coffee beverages, catering to diverse tastes.
While the food menu is somewhat limited, the focus here is undoubtedly on the drinks. The cafe also houses a retail corner selling scented products, adding a delightful touch to the overall experience.
One aspect that sets Cà phê Sài Gòn Ơi apart is its pet-friendly policy, allowing furry companions to join in the fun. Additionally, the cafe accepts credit cards, making it convenient for visitors.
With its prime location in the heart of District 1, just steps away from iconic attractions like the Saigon Opera House and the Reunification Palace, Cà phê Sài Gòn Ơi is a must-visit for those seeking a unique and memorable cafe experience in Ho...
Read moreI usually don't write negative reviews because I'm more often a "if you got nothing nice to say, don't say it at all" kinda guy. But this cafe was almost taunting me to leave a review by lowering its quality of service at every turn.
I ordered for 2 coconut coffees, which came to 140,000 VND (blatantly overpriced but comes with the territory when you're caught in a tourist trap). I gave 200,000 VND in cash, but they asked me to pay the exact amount, even going so far as to see what notes I was carrying. Ultimately was gypped 10,000 in change and they played it off as if math worked differently internationally.
It took over 20 mins to just make the 2 coconut coffees, and the cafe wasn't even busy. But maybe it took so long because they were trying to make the perfect brew? As soon as I took the first sip, it was clear that in a race to the bottom, their coconut coffee was prime Usain Bolt; no one else was beating it. If you're looking for a novel experience, this place will prove to you that there actually is such a thing as a 'bad' coconut coffee.
Overall, would've had a much better experience had I sat outside my hotel balcony and ordered a coconut coffee on Grab. I would've got one of better quality and...
Read moreif you have benn to the cafe apartment, this cafe might be something familiar as it in the facade. we went to this cafe as it looks nice from the outside 🙂 the entrance is very instagrammble as it looks like a garden cafe -- coming up from the entrance you'll be greated by a scent/perfume shop on the right then the cafe is straight inside. the interior got some urban jungle look to it with its whites and greens with books & plants around. i ordered their Saigon coffee with condensed milk and it's super strong just like how i want my coffee to be 😏. i also got myself a cake flan which was not to sweet and perfectly pairs with my coffee. the only con i think i have is that the space is limited so you will need to wait a bit to get a table during peak hours. we got there just nice before the crowd came so we got our spot right away but but we saw a bunch of people waiting for seats when we were about to leave. i think the best time to come is around 5pm to 5:30pm (sunset time) as their balcony is the perfect spot to take photos with the golden sunset as your light or backdrop ☺️ btw, they also sell durian coffee over here for durian...
